As for 80s pop music, that was a time when artists were delivering new/original music and actually built up underground followings on their own and then attracted major label attention. That's far different today where the lady gag gags are just corporate promotions. Both madonna and duran duran came from the punk rock, and post punk scenes. Unlike gag gag and the emo bands.

Nor will she ever match madonnas record sales(again in a time-the 80s, when a ton of better/more original music was around), not too mention Duran Durans(who has sold well over 100 million records).

I vaguely remember seeing these guys (AILD) in Marysville, Ca, quite a few years ago. I think they were playing with 3 Inches of Blood...? Point being, Tim has always been a huge encouragement to me with his lyrics. Personally, favorite band, for more than one reason. Would love to see em again.
