MM Just Curious why Why would Navtive Americains take white women in the first Place?
Because this is acually Roman and British Military tactic , to Diminess the reproduction rate of your enemey and increase yours.
I think its a werid concepto make it into some sort of Love movie, Most likly this women experiance what we now call the "Stockhome Sendrom"t I have never seen the movie , I hope the movie does some historical background.
@roboparks Yes, Sarah White and Anna Morgan were real people, but their real story was quite tradgic and this movie is quite different. Women were captured to serve as slaves, the SAME reason white Americans captured Native American women for.
Michael Greyeyes is fine as always. All the white women I know still have this fantasy, maybe that's why they think they're "Cherokee princesses," haha. . At least for once they put one of our actors in a romantic lead role. If you want to see movies about how we really are Smoke Signals is better or Dreamkeeper or 500 Nations.
I am Brazilian. I attended when girl this film! And he/she didn't know the name, however for cause of that video I could review him/it. Thank you very much!!!! :D
This is a great love story. You can never ignore your heart, when you love someone you can not let it go. I was married to someone else & totally unhappy when my husband now stole my heart. I felt terrible about leaving my 1st husband but I was miserable. My husband now & I have been married 8 yrs this month & still totally in love. The heart wants what the heart wants. & AvalonMedieval is right love is colorblind & it should be in my opinion.
@MsAKSfan You SAID it! I couldn't in a million years, not to even mention the hand at that time but his EYES!!The way he's looking..Woh! Know what?Need a real COLD drink right now and run to the fridge!XD See ya all later.(and on my way to the kitchen;damn,are("American")-Natives breathtaking beautiful...sigh)P.S: sorry for the word.Greets from a white European-woman,with a colourful open heart and a learning soul.Love,Peace and Respect to you all in 2012. XXXBianca (Amsterdam-The Netherlands)
@ameisingset LOL Yeah, I'm sure it was a tough decision! LOL Especially after seeing her husband.
Lots of white women did not want to leave their Native Husbands or lovers. We don't hear much about that history.
In my won history my great grandfather went to Calif. for gold or adventure. Anyway, on his way back, he took an Apache wife. LOL He must have loved her, because he already had a white wife at home! I have 3 grandparents with Indian blood.
i want to see all this movie what part i have seen i felt a part of this love story, i would love to have a opy of this all so, wht happen in this movie really did happen, it happen to my g,g,g, grandmother another as bought for chickens, cow, pig, pots and pans, blankets, bolts of cloth, now that was unjustice to me that all she was worth to this white family grr
I wonder these people who claim justice for the capted white women, what happen when the natives american indian women were kippnaped and raped, what justice they can found?
@SuperCutzi As a historian, I can tell you I have NEVER heard of any case gong to court on behalf of a captive Native American women. Even after Lincoln's proclamation, it was still legal for soldiers to hold native women as they were not considered slaves because they were not human because they were not Christian.
Beautiful love story, though some would call it historically flawed. History is written by the victorious, and in those days ignorant whites did all they could to demonize the Native People. I look at the rage of the Indians in this way; what would you do if a bum suddenly started living on your front lawn? No matter what you say or do, he simply won't budge and what's worse, is he feels entitled to live on your lawn. How long would you put up with him before you got REALLY pissed?
@WidowRose Thank you for responding and taking the time to watch. I completely understand as I am Cherokee with a BA in history. Sadly though, my video is just a fictional love story as the real Anna Brewster Morgan's story was very tragic.
man howd she do it. i hella LOVE N. INDIANS! i wouldnt have been able to leave him in the first place....N. INDIANS is my first choice of marriage....than samoan....iLOVE this imma watch the movie now! thanx whoever posted this up youre awesome! =)
when I saw the video for the first time, it made me cry, at the end, the gril (sorry I don't know who she is) realized that she loved the man who she left behind. Thank you for put these beautifull 'cuts of the film' on youtube.
What's the name of the movie? I want to watch it.Thank you for your time.
2.) I know , I know, I'm so bad. Well WTF when you see something like that what do u expect ? This comment probably wont be approved . But I just had to type it out LOL , Ok, I feel better now . Gotta go watch the movie now .
1. ) Damn maybe I'm NOT a lesbian after all, maybe I'm just really, really, really, really really, really, really , really, really, really, really, really, really, really picky when it comes to guys , that native guy would seriously make me reconsider about only liking girls , he was sexy as fuck . Better yet, him and I with another hot girl would be the shit, that way I could have my cake and eat it too .
I'm trying to figure something out, maybe I just don't get it, but why was Manipi so jealous? Was that Tokahalas sister, a potential mate or just so hateful for what the whites done. ??? Any theories or answers??
@kavaldes08 I am not sure. Since she was cooking and caring for Tokola, I assumed Manipi was his wife, as the Lakota could take more then one wife. Or perhaps his soon-to-be wife. I felt sorry for her though. If I lived in that era, it would hurt to lose someone I loved to the enemy.
@piratesse4 The movie is not available on dvd and as soon as it is, I will post and let you know. The movie is on VHS in Canada. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thanks! You did an excellent video on this movie and this song.
