People are very quick to call you a sellout if they see you succeeding at something. I've noticed it a lot, not only on youtube, but in the black community.

I got called a sell out because I got good grades in high school. (I don't see how that makes me a sell out, but somehow it made sense to them.) If succeeding in life makes me a sell out, then I guess that's what I proudly am.

Smosh is the biggest 'sellout', they drown us in ads, and they sponsor anything a company throws at them...they rarely make funny videos anymore, and when they do THOSE are the ones people actually watch.

I agree with you for the reason that people cant call YOU a sellout unless they ACTUALLy really KNOW you...making a video for something you like or think you would have fun with is great but once you get paid for it I believe people tend to get envious so they decide to bash you for something they would have done without a second thought
