I find it really strange the people so young can determine sexual orientation either for themselves or for others. That aside, the onlookers appear to me to be saying "you're not conforming, people will think we're homosexual too if you're seen with us!" And there's a Transsexual person from the Netherlands, also on YouTube, who describes her country as extremely homophobic from her perspective.
I live in holland and I have never seen this commercial on tv while I do have it on all the time. I can guess on wich channels this commercial would be showed on but those are the channels a 12+ year old wouldnt watch eventhough they are the target of this commercial. Great commercial but it's not being shown on the right channels :/
@JVisser1990 Dit is geen commercial. Het zal vast wel onderdeel worden van het verplichte lespakket dat alle scholen gaan krijgen over homoseksualiteit.
@JVisser1990 well i know that boy really good. and it's not a commercial it a movie that was made to give homosexuality and being bullied because of it some attention. it's not for schools or whatever it's to get attention.
Wonderful video. The chilling effect portrays exactly what it's like for a homosexual kid to go to school every day, knowing that they will get harassed. Homophobia is dark.
I actually clued in on something here that I really had not thought about before. While I can relate to (and remember) the effect bullying has on the victim, in watching this, I saw how the victimization is actually spread onto the by-standers who are under the same abusive oppression. Gay/Bi/ Str8 does not matter: ALL are being victimized by the bullies.
@MarkDellavecchia very true.. now if only schools would all instill a 'zero tolerance, no bullying policy' everyone would be covered... Bullies would be dealt with, and kids would be safe... How hard is that?

@XXYSexChromosomes The Netherlands is a country with two faces:
the first one is warm, welcoming, open: You feel accepted no matter what you are; gay, lesbian, straight, bisexual, transgendered, it doesn't matter
However, in the Netherlands, life-rule one: Whatever you do, stay normal, and everything that's not is automatically scary for some reason.
It depends where you are, at what time of year.

@coasterthing2 I expect the government there has one attitude and promotes it because the population at large has a different point of view.

@levans71 This is an example of what I mean, and how "simple" I think the solution could be:
tinyurl (dot) com/blc5rb9 It's a news report of a school in Vermont.
