Saw her in June at the Hollywood Bowl w/ a live band. she was excellent her voice is clear, strong and sounded just like the record but she did some changes like all good musicians do when they play live. I will see her again any place I could.

There are many singers who have an 'accent' when they sing, Karen O has a very distinctive singing voice, due to the inflections that she uses,and the hap-hazard way that she plays with pitch... It's very comparable to many 'foreign' singers, who's accent is undetectable when they are singing...If Santogold had a jamaican ( which btw who have u heard with a jamaican accent like that?) accent while she was talking that would be a different story...

Though they do sound similar, Santogold and M.I.A. are not the same animal...M.I.A.'s voice has a rougher quality about her voice, her beats and voice are more juxtaposed, which is her own sound...Santogold's voice/beats are meant to have a smoother quality,her music is more influenced by New Wave, M.I.A.'S is not...So, don't fault other artists on YOUR inability to recognize the difference...And btw, since when was Robin Thicke wannabe hardcore punk?...
