Great song. I saw these guys play in my high school auditorium. I always felt they were never taken seriously and yet could never figure out why. They had all the makings of a great band. Good sound, catchy lyrics that people could relate to. Just goes to show that talent alone doesn't cut it if you don't have the right industry people backing you.
@grumpyplay True enough, man. I used to despise that stuff but not anymore. There are some really good melodies in hip-hop. (Still trying to get used to the rap, though. Pretty hard to understand them without the lyrics.) Rock on and such !!!
@grumpyplay ...when it comes to rap/ hiphop ....its better to go back to older stuff early to late 80's era before it became a corporate cash cow (just like most music these days produced mostly for image and the appeal of pre teens/teens) i'd reccomend goups and artist like "Public Enemy", KRS -1, Grandmaster Flash, Run Dmc and Eric B and Rakim
I'm 16, and this is golden music, The bullcrap we call "Mainstream" music is a discrace to my generation and the one before, I wish things were like when Micheal Jackson, Madonna, Bon Jovi and other legendary bands from way back in the Golden Age of music was still being played and sold then the crap we have to listen to today. Somebody, Save Music.
Thank you for your sentiment, akatsuki, but 'mainstream' music has been shallow and empty and crap for longer than you imply - as long as there were recording companies, there have been business people 'engineering' popular music without making anything GOOD.
But...good music has also been thriving just fine all this time; one just has to look away from the hype-machine and dig a little deeper; ROCK WILL SURVIVE just fine - just stay true, friend. :)
bullsleafs Class of 86, totally brings me back as a teen back then, my best times where back then, today is the drizzing shits, with this generation crap, rap music, they act black when there white, thats pathethic, wonder why im still stuck in the past, anways rock on in the past i know i will, as bowser said from sha na na yip yip yip get a job!! grease for peace!!! lol
ChickenMcdonky, ask Randy about the crap record contract that caused these guys to never get the exposure they deserved and probably caused them to break up. Canada only backs two or three bands or stars at a time which is why so much good stuff even now gets buried. Thank gawd for YouTube and thanks for posting this BlackDragon
This song, Aldo Nova "Fantasy" and a few songs by Toronto, Street heart and others were a staple in our friday night dances in the 80's. Oh to be back in the 80's again as a teenager...oh man!!
This must be from 1981 or '82. Cool song but reminds me of high school in Saskatchewan. Pioneer after market cassette car stereos, weekend outdoor parties, those were the carefree days!
For me the best eigthies song
