I can remember taking the oath to defend the constitution when enlisting. This was in 1979, am guessing that this oath is still administered, right??? If so, I would like to say to any one in the military: When you receive an order that you know is morally wrong, remember the oath you took.

Having said that, we should be thankful to God that we still have young men and women who are willing to fight for our nation. I agree with Dr. Paul, it time to bring our troops home.

I was enlisted in the USAF from 99-07 (honorably discharged). When I deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq, the first thing that I noticed was all things that had the letters "KBR" which I later found out to be a subsidiary of Haliburton. That was the point which I started questioning why we were in the Middle East. To me the gov't created an opportunity to transfer money from American taxpayers into the pockets of private industry and then gave us whatever excuse (wmds, terrorism, patriotism, etc).

He started looking at me all weird and basically told me that he couldn't really do anything else other than being a trigger pulling tool and he loved it. I asked: "will you just do anything they tell you to do?" He said: "pretty much yes as long as I'm safe". I asked about the oath to the constitution and he told me he didn't give a flying F about the constitution or what's morally right. He loves to kill people and getting well paid for it. It is exciting for him to blow up someone to pieces.

I told him he felt tough and powerful because nobody shot back at him yet. I also told him that if they give him orders to start shooting Americans who will defend their property (for instance... me) I promised him I will shoot back. He was confused and said he has no intention of killing someone he knows. We'll see what happens.
