When I was younger I could never really understand Mel. As I have gotten older, he has indeed become my favorite drummer and musician. I call him "The Subtle Genius". There is no one I would rather watch lead a band or play a solo than Mel. I understand his concept now, thankfully.
Anything else you have by Mel would be greatly appreciated.
Interesting to see Marshall and Pribek on the band, direct from Buddy's band ~
So was Salminen, the blonde trumpet player, who was from Finland. He had some scary chops taking over lead for a short time for Buddy the first time I ever saw his band in 1980.
John Marshall soloing here also played with Buddy Rich in the late 70 "Killer Force". Mel is smokin!

Mel is the dogs bollocks. So good you can hardly tell hes there..and the sound from those cymbals......woah! Go Mel..slushy
