  • would've loved to hear andy martin solo on this song

  • Is anyone else not amazed that a such an amazing trombone solo can be played so casually?

  • This is 'on' from beginning to end. For detractors the chart is really demanding and every soloist makes the changes effortlessly. The feel is 'go for it' and the control they exhibit while playing at those volumes and tempos is world class. fantastic!

  • why wasnt kenny g. feaured on this number?

  • Ron Stout is digging the bone solo. Watch him. :-) So am I.

  • @TimBalesRealHorns Scott Whitfield has always been a stud on trombone for as long as I've known him. He played some of the most ridiculously challenging charts with Toshiko Akiyoshi and Lew Tabackin. He is still amazing whether in a small ensemble or in a big band. Also, dig his work with his wife, Ginger Berglund as they dig into the Jackie and Roy style and songbook.

  • Why didnt Andy Martin take the solo! The trombone player is pretty good but i would have loved to see Andy Martin tear it to shreds.Does this guy take lessons from Fracisco Torres!

  • I have to comment here on the two somewhat untoward comments about Scott Whitfield's trombone solo. It was Smokin' all right. He plays every bit on a level with Andy Martin and Bob McChesney. As was said, Cut these folks some slack for the venue. This was a great performance.

  • I agree, if everyone played the same way there would be no variety, jazz would be boring, this is the first time I've seen and heard Scott and I loved his solo, he is world class.

  • wow i just came from watching carl saunders live.he is amazing.he even played the drums for one song.

  • Pretty good band .The trombone player seems a little frantic .The trumpet solo sounded like hes really concerned about getting as many notes in as possible . Nice band blend.

  • you have odd taste then...the trombone solo was smokin, and you obviously have no idea who carl saunders is

  • It looked like the Trombone player was Scott Whitfield. I thought it was great! You don't get much better than Scott Whitfield

  • Cut them some slack this is recorded outside, acoustics aren't that great outdoors.

Carl Saunders is one of the most skillful trumpet players around. Check out his work with Bob Florence.

  • the trombone player was really missing the changes.sounds like hes not on the same level as andy or mc chesney.trumpet player sounds really labored.ron stout should have played the solo. good band anyway.

  • Great music! Thanks for posting.

  • Glad you enjoyed the band,Carl is a special performer with great musician with him!

  • great band .andy martin would have hit every change and sounded amazing on this .trumpet solo was so brittle sounding and tiny.
