the only difference between a wyven and a dragon is that a wyvern has 2 legs and 2 wings (but they sometimes have hands on the wings)

wereas a dragon has 2 legs 2 arms and 2 wings

size has nothing to do with it you can get all diffrent sized dragons and wyverns

@crazyj3uk if we're going by old-school mythology here, another difference is that Dragons had fire breath and Wyverns had poison stingers.

The diffrence is an Elder dragon has arms sepretly a wyvern has sometimes no arms (yian kut ku) and some have arms with wing attached (tigrex)

Some elders have no wings (chamilios, Lao and Ankator)

Some have (Fatalis and Kashala Daora)

like every1 sed tigrex can fly very fast but ive slaughtered the poor thing a couple of times (involong 4 dudes with special ops gunlances 8 lbb+ and 4 wyverns fire ouch nuked) also people say that a tigrex can be called a wyvern or a elder dragon but i think its prob a wyvern since you cant carve any elder dragon stuff from it great vid btw

it looks like a hyupnock its in monster hunter frontier, monster hunter 2 G and monster hunter 3 it has a variation caled bright hypnock which is a hpnock in mating season :P

A Dragon has four legs and 2 or more wings. a Wyvern has 2 legs and 2 wings. a Tigrex is more primal than other Wyverns, and so still uses his forelimbs as wings as well as legs, but they aren't seperate, so it is considered a wyvern.

the tigrex does fly, if u fought 1 before and made him retreat in the snowy mountians or the desert he does fly and pretty fast. even though they say he can't fly that good he flyes the fastest in gameplay. and yes he is the most savage fighter in the whole game. but regardless of anything he can fly. trust me i've beatin it 8 times. counted in my refrecence book.

exactly, u've got the concept. the tigrex has no type of special ability with any of the elements just his own strength. he's a fast flyer but sux at landing and uses a zero gravity type fightin style which makes him really fast and rushes very recklessly.

so is the akantor and some new monsters coming in future releases.they have also made an ice version of the akantor but instead of the large fangs it has a shover like chin and its reward is 50000 zenni.makes the akantor look like a bitch

You know, this is getting no where. First of all, dragons don't act like birds, in which case wyverns do. HOWEVER, dragons, such as the Chinese dragon, have four legs and sometimes two, with no wings (yet it can 'fly' due to its 'magicality'). Wyverns are wyverns because they have wings and act like birds. Dragons don't act like birds yet some species of dragons have wings and others don't.

Monoblos and Diablos are wyverns, and they burrow underground, which I can't think of any birds doing.

Do you mean simply that they have the same kind of skeletal structures as birds? ALthough I have to admit that the wyverns I've seen in MH do walk kinda like birds.

Wyverns act like birds, but they still have dragon-like features. Monoblos and Diablos dig underground, but if you see them doing their 'look around' move where they just turn their heads to look around them, it's a bird-like feature/movement.

actually lao is not a wyrm. wyrm is a dragon type yes but wyrms has not 4 limbs like dragons and are more slender and snake like body with or without wings. if you want info about it go search on google.
