  • if i look at the picture...adler can play with one foot :O XD

  • @nickmarc1416

he just has the second bassdrum to make other drummers not feel that sorry for themselves.

  • AIM BOT

  • We have 9 Lars Ulrich fans...

  • @Disassoative

Hey I'm a Lars fan, but I didn't dislike this video. Adler and Ulrich are my 2 favorite drummers :)

  • @jeremylovesmusic1 Lars sucks ass after '90. Sorry bub. Try some Tim Yeung or George Kolias.

  • for the questions about the snare: Since Sacrament he has used his own Signature Snare, its a custom Black Panther by Mapex. They are discontinued now, and I am lucky enough to say I own one and it sounds AMAZING. I've tried it out, and though I at first thought he was using two different snares on this song, the metallic hits are just rimshots on that snare. God he is amazing.

  • thums up for Chris Adler

  • this is a show kit ya ding bats. doy.

  • how is he ment to hit the left bass when theres no pedal?

he must have did this whole song with one foot

  • motherfuckerzzzzzzzz xD that's awesome fucking awesome fucking thank you

  • It makes me so happy that other people realize how amazing chris adler is

  • @peanutbuttersack17 not Adler, Lamb of God

  • You don't need a singer... Snare is singing it self....

  • does anyone recognice that at the left bassdrumm one pedal is missing?

  • @Gothica931 haha yes it is

  • is tht the set list by one of the pedals lol

  • anyone else notic that bass drum on the left doent have a bass pedal

  • he really is a sick drummer

  • whays he needs all the symbles for?

  • @TheXyster96 More shit to beat on

  • @TheXyster96 1st answer: better sounds for the songs

    2nd answer: to be epic

  • The left bass drum is just for decoration! He plays everything with just one foot! xD

  • I play guitar and every time I see these drum only videos my head automatically fills in guitar :D

  • he uses triggers live...

  • @visceralmisery He uses a single trigger live. It's an 808 pad, not a bass trigger.

  • @h3rsh3y94 what are these triggers you guys talk about? is it cheating or something?

  • @novitec360 Not really. It's used to compesate for the lack of volume at high speeds (like 200 bpm+). It is a sampled sound that is generated from either contact on a drum head or pressing down the bass pedal. Listen to any given death metal band and notice the bass sound.

  • @novitec360 no matter how light u hit the drum head it still comes out on FOH sound at the same volume as if u were really hitting them hard at that speed u can have basically any sort of sound coming from ya bass drum like a dog barking lol which ive done!!

  • I SOSOSOSO LOVE HIS SNARE SOUND.

  • dude you should do condemn the hive for drums only

  • Hmm... The left bass drum doesn't have a pedal.. O.o Oh well. But yeah, Chris Adler is one of the most technical modern drummers ever.

  • What are triggers.?

  • @MetalManiaclml Drum triggers are electronic sensors that are put on acoustic drums to make them sound more monotone/equal. Because when doing fast double bass on acoustic drums, all that resonanse causes notes to be lost. So when triggers are added to acoustic drums, you here the intial hit and not a lot of the left over resonance. But be careful, this is a touchy subject among drummers via-YouTube. Stay metal man \m/

  • badass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol the left bass pedle isnt there

  • @skullcap0508 he doesn't need it, hes chris adler

  • You say Soulja Boy-I say Ozzy Osbourne

You say Miley Cyrus-I say Iron Maiden

    You say T-Pain-I say kiss

    You say Flowers-I say Metallica

You say Pink-I say System of a Down

You say Hip Hop-I say metal

You say Pop-I scream HEAVY METAL!!!

You say Hannah montana-i hit you in the face

92% of teenagers have turned to Hip Hop and Pop. If you are part of the 8% that still listen to real music, copy and paste this message to another 5 videos.

DON'T LET THE SPIRIT OF ROCK DIE

  • @koaladoinferno i agree with everything except for miley cyrus......she is fine dawwgggg!!!!! have you seen the new video of her

  • @koaladoinferno old copypasta is old

  • @bmxmisfits Gtfo newfag.

  • @Killenmachine05 i am dissapoint

  • helps if you wanna do a cover on this. like.

  • Woah... At 0:55-1:00 totally the same kick part as walk with me in hell

  • he doesnt use triggers, tard.

  • i heard he doesnt use triggers. how does he get that sound?

  • @amazingfantasy66 seriously ?! that is just fuckin incredible

  • @amazingfantasy66

He does use triggers. Just like every metal drummer

  • @Riiivinn no he doesnt buddy... pearl drummersforumDOTcom/showthread. php ?t=222275

  • @Riiivinn I don't use triggers.

I play metal. Now what XD

  • @Riiivinn It sounds like he does, but no, he doesn't. He does layer it though so every hit sounds equally powerful... He's amazing but it's almost literally impossible to do it THIS precise live without triggers. Even though he's close :D

  • @amazingfantasy66 The bass drum heads he uses and a pillow aganist the batter head. And you get that sound.

  • fuckin good song

  • yeah he is pretty solid aye

  • immaculate drumming by the adler!

  • AWESOME

  • Give this a thumbs up if you think Chris Adler is a beast.

  • @FollowHim4Eternity he is not a beast ! HE IS A FUCKING GOD !

  • @FollowHim4Eternity he is my favorite drummer of all time amazing

  • i've noticed chris likes to use the same bass drum intervals followed by the snare in a lot of his songs, a good example is the intro to "Walk with me in hell" (fuckin love it)

  • thats his high hat pedal idiots

  • naspa sa mor io

  • de ce?:P

  • Comment removed

  • anybody knotice his left kick drum has no pedal?

  • And?

  • just thought it was random was all

  • @Brutalsounds101, he wasn't finished setting up.

  • obviously i just thought it was funny they took a pic before they fully finished was all

  • Because it was the only time they could get close enough. :D

  • @FractureTheBand

    he doesnt do that

  • No shit sherlock.

Its called roadies, I was just saying. I'm not stupid.

  • i think that was the first think i noticed :P

  • Well, If you look closely, in the shadow where his left drum pedal is, its detached from his bass drum.

  • fucking badass sounding kit

  • Comment removed

  • amazing snare sound

  • Quantized and sampled. Now, that's a fact.

  • Perfect drumming.

  • The reverb in here is quite nice too.

About earlier, i take back what i said... no triggers :). Monstrous compression and EQ.

Remember however, a midi trigger DOESNT have to be attached to the drum. You could use a send to trigger a midi unit based on voltage etc... more ways of doing it than attaching it to the drum.

Doing it that way also prevents damping what is probably the nicest 'thud' sound on the planet :P

  • Thats amazing im so happy that i bought this snare. it sounds amazing

  • sounds awesome

  • that snare is prety far from the hi hat

  • awesome.

  • Chris Adler uses a lot of rimshots, right? or is that his rim's normal sound? =P

rimshots or not, it sounds awesome! =D

  • Is his snare piccolo? I know my 13 x 3.5 pearl maple piccolo sounds just like this hitting it normally (I love my snare :P)

  • it's a mapex black panther.

  • his is made out of walnut if that makes any difference

  • No, his snare is just tuned high as f*ck.

  • his snare is 12" by 5 1/2"

  • it is, 12x5.5"

  • The bass pedals are amazing on his kit.

  • look up George Kollias.

    not diss on Chris though.

    love his work too.

  • kollias is insane

  • is it just me or is his hi-hat really far away from the snare

  • yes it is, its not just you

  • GET A MORE RECENT PIC OF HIS DRUM SET ;)

  • lol wow man

  • @totokickbutt dude , this is his nicest kit by far

  • The. Perfect. Metal. Drums. Sound.

Seriously the way Adler's drums are recorded are masterful on the past three albums. It's too bad neither Sacrament nor Wrath (in my opinion) sound as good as Ashes overall. Of course, since they released the separated tracks for both albums, a custom remaster is all it takes and boom, they too sound amazing.

  • YA chris re-uses the walk with me in hell intro a lot. but who cares he came up with he has the right to abuse and he pulls it off kickass every time

  • isn't 1:51 to 1:54 from walk with me in hell

  • exile375 it very similar to walk with me in hell, but not the exact same beat

  • yeah.

  • Chris is one of the best but not the best, he does not use his hands as much as some other drummer who have been named "best drummer" but there is no such thing as the best drummer cause there are over 100 styles of music and that means there should be over 100 best drummers in the world cause it is impossible to compare 2 difrent styles of music, however Chris is the best Metal drummer

  • look up Derek Roddy.

  • the hi-hat clips a lot, the drums sound quantinized out the ass, still Chris is an amazing live drummer

  • I don't care who the best drummer in the world is. Chris is my favourite.

  • dude i just realized that no one has done grace vocals only can you please do that if you can thanks

  • i meant..*im not saying his the best*

  • yea "his" should be "he's" fyi

  • i say..chris a great drummer..he fuckin kick ass...im not his the best..it's up to you guys who do you prefer..there's alot of drummers out there...Chris is just a master of his own style

  • fckn nice

  • yea dude i totally agree with chris adler is one of the best durmmers out there in my opinion and i got the same cd it's so sick i think they should do that for the rest of their cds

  • ya theres this random windy echo on his snare man what is that

  • magical feet? lol

  • sludgey or not, Vinnie is a legend and Chris is just too good.

  • ya i agree, hes just saying theyre not the best thrash drummers of all time cuz thyre not even thrash. Both are absolutely fabulous.

  • what kind of snare is that?

  • Mapex Black Panther

  • @RockstarDaniel i beleive its his own custom and i think its called something wolf...? i know its his signiture haha

  • @sufferingrules his snare? its his signature mapex black panther.

  • @jrfireboy86 there ya go haha i feel so un lamb-afied

  • @jrfireboy86 That's it. My bad.

  • Adler's the fucking man! Second in thrash metal only to the GOD........ VINNIE PAUL

  • Tbh LOG doesn't actually play Thrash Metal. Its more like Post-Thrash to me, which in fact IS Groove Metal ;]

And the Pantera case: The only album that can be classified as Thrash is Cowboys. Vulgar, Far Beyond, Trendkill & Reinventing are all Groove Metal. The last two records tend to be pretty sludgey, and that's the LAST thing Thrash is.

    (LOG & Pantera rules!)

  • Yeah man, from all the LOG videos I've seen, chris is the most intelligent and down to earth. He's seems like to coolest dude ever to drink a beer with. I respect Joey for his speed, however I do believe he lacks a lot of creativity. Check out Alex Pelletier from Despised Icon, he's my favorite drummer, and they are indeed my favorite band. He combines speed, technicality, and creativity in almost every song. either way man, rock on.

  • I fucking agree exactly!

  • how the fuck do you think dimebag is a drummer?

  • my fuckin bad jerk i meant to say lombardo from slayer the thing is that when i typed in vinnie paul dimebag came into my mind lol and i typed him i know hes not a drummer u fucker so excuse me

  • I'm going to disagree with you, but I respect your drive to sub classify metal as such. August 1994, Modern drummer featured Vinnie Paul on the cover as "king of Thrash metal drums" As for sludgy...perhaps their later albums were more sludgy than earlier albums, however, put Reinventing the steel up against a real sludge band like oceano, annotations of an autopsy, Acacia strain, and you can hear that they really don't fit that well in that category either. Either way man, good discussion.

  • this is the real drumming

  • this song is very fun 2 play

    its 1 of my warm-ups

  • playing this song is fun, <3 it!!

  • what a beast kicks Jordisons ass

  • i don think

  • fuck yeah!!!!!

  • okk..."itchygonads" your an idiot. this is a studio cut from the new album dumb ass. so it is him

  • why is one bass pedal missing?

  • good question

  • Because secretly, Chris can play all that with one foot! lol jk jk. :P I'm sure the pic was taken before the band went on stage.

  • also the high hat is pretty far away than normal

  • do you guys know the type of drumhead of his snare?

  • fuck any other drummer, and fuck joe jordison, adler the best

  • how do we know this is him playing?

  • because its the mastertrack from the album

  • adler ROCKS!!!!

  • yo how about everyone whos not in one of the worlds most kiackass metal band shut your bitchin mouths about adlers drumming ability

  • lol @ people making fun of other people's taste in music

  • He said in Drum! magazine that he didn't use triggers.

  • can someone tell me how can i download this drumms solos

  • it are no solo's,,,,,but the fucking CD

  • f@$k this is a sweet ass video and i'm trying to learn it but hey i;m not as good as chris adler

  • He's so f***** awesome... This guy's a god !

Thks fo sharing this dude !

  • hes not that amazing

  • even though he is..

  • not really, ever hear of derek roddy, john longstreth, or george kollias??

  • yes, i've heard of them. they can play very quickly but that's really not what adler does, he plays stuff that's incredibly intricate and complements the rest of the music perfectly. he has his own his own unique style and that's what i love about his drumming.

  • HAH, it seems like you don't know who they are if you say they are not intricate, they all out class adler, he is just a basic metal drummer that many people overate

  • I know exactly who they are. I have the upmost repsect for derek roddy, he's one of my favourite drummers, and desipte not liking kollias' band, i think he's an excellent drummer too. what i'm saying is, adler's grooves and general rythym perfectly complements the rest of his band, and that's what i love his drumming for. i'm not trying to slag of any of your death metal drummers whatsoever, just reinforcing the fact that adler is a great drummer.

  • like I said, adler is an overated drummer

  • no, he's an excellent drummer.

besides, do you think he really gets to show off in lamb of god? roddy plays very quickly in hate eternal and kollias plays quickly in nile, but that doesn't mean it's the only thing they can do. the other day i saw a video of roddy playing at 25 bpm. twenty five! do you know how difficult that shit is?!

besides, if you don't think chris adler is all that amazing, why are you on a video of him anyway?

  • I like the band but I do not overate the members... keep up, roddy hasn't been with hate eternal for a while, your starting to show what a poser you are

  • being a poser has nothing to do with it - when i think of roddy, i think of hate eternal, that's all there is to it.

  • like I have already stated, you are a poser
