I mean I like musicals and everything, but I went and saw this extremely hung over and it was by far the worst musical I've ever seen. Don't know why people love it so much. I'd rather watch the Nutcracker....(I know that's not a musical) but I fucking hate the Nutcracker.
@Maxkustrap the neat thing about the set, itt's inflatable and only takes 7 hours to load in vs 2 days w/ the old set which is now only used in places like Hawaii & S. America
@TheCoryChannel I loved memory!!!!!!!!!!!!! and everything about this play!!!!!!! I just don't get why people think there's no plot in it, even though there is a plot to it!!!!!!
@MichaelKulow The bizarre thing about the plot is no one gets how demented it really is. So, the one who sings Memory was a slut. The whole song was about her remembering how good the days she got tail were. No real remorse or sorrow about it. And she dupes the rest of the cast into pitying her back into acceptance...gets reborn..and what do you think she's gonna do with the 'new life'? Yup..more sex! Realizing this makes you realize she is pure evil..the kind of evil boiling with deep wrongness
@SoaringEagle2005 That... is not exactly what the song is about... Combining all the songs about Grizabella you get that she worked the streets, shit happened, and she's trying to start a new life. ALW and Trever Nunn explained that in the deluxe edition of CATS.
@SoaringEagle2005 Um...I can believe she was a hooker or what ever as that is kind of stated in her song "rising sun" and "friend at hand" are brothels. But she is talking about regrets. She lost her beauty when she become a prostitute. most likely lured into it in a belief it was glamorous but she regrets her mistakes and wishes to be accepted but of course the cats don't accept her and she wants to turn things around hence "new life" and be a better person or cat.
