among others: Walter Payton, Jim Brown, Sammy Baugh, L.T., Johnny U, Joe Namath, Dick Butkus, Kenny Stabler, OJ, Dan Fouts, Fran Tarkenton, Jim Plunkett, Art Monk, Barry Sanders, Gayle Sayres, Earl Campbell, Joe Montana, Dwight Jones, Thurman Thomas, Elway, Daryl Talley, Larry Czonka, Tony Dorsett, Marcus Allen, Troy Aikman, Doug Williams, Franco Harris, Pat Tillman.
@xptwillie Well done! A couple of the others: Dennis Brown, Johnny Olszewski and Bob Kalsu who after his rookie year for the Bills was killed in 'Nam..
@smbake I was running out of room, otherwise I had the jersey numbers, too. And the "regulators, mount up!" is an obvious homage to the film "Young Guns" with Emelio Sheen, Kiefer Sutherland and LDP. And props for putting in Pat Tillman and Slingin' Sammy Baugh. Where's Norm van Brocklin or Alan Ameche? ;-)
@Jerry11606 A few years ago I bought a cd thru Amazon called The Power and the Glory: The Original Music & Voices of NFL Films.....This song is track #2...The Power and the Glory. I'd recommend buying the whole cd, it's pretty good.
@DrinkSomeSodaBitch It's called The Power and the Glory by Sam Spence, who did the music for NFL Films, and of course that's John Facenda doing the narrating.
Bo Jackson!!

The song with the lone trumpets is called "A Chilling Championship", the fast paced one that follows is "Up She Rises"

"Professional football in America is a special game. A unique game. Played nowhere else on Earth, it is a rare game. The men who play it, make it so."
John Facenda, you truly were "the Voice of God."
