i have heard conflicting things about which lasts longer dry spore prints ,or spores stored in syringes in sterile distilled water, one thing i read sais thay can last almost indefinitely ,but i forget if it was the syringes with distilled water or the dry print in a jar that they said will last almost indefinitely,i also have a few syringes of b+ and pesa someone gave me like 4 or 5 years ago,but i only ever grew pf cubies,i wonder if any of my spores are any good,i know they will be slow but..

ive done this quite a few time and i always make my own spore prints in a half pint jar ,and draw up and make my own spore syringes from my home made prints,and i have 2 syringes i bought of pf strain that are about 2 or 3 years old and some prints i made in jars that are about 5 or 6 or maybe more years old ,but i kept everything in acool dark place,does anyone know if i should bother trying to germinate any of it?or do you think its all expired?which keeps longer?syringes or prints in jars?

@11aamiller where do you live? spores are legal in all states but california and georgia. the reason is the spores themselves dont contain psylocybin or psilocin (which are the pyschoactive ingredients) as for growing them, google "pf-tek" and ull find a guide. essentially the hardest part of growing shrooms is keeping everything sterile. good luck!

they're not flies, which refers to "fly Agaraic" or Amanita Muscara shroom. These are Psilocybe Cubesis.

The only thing that I could find out was that the spores will drop about the same time as the cap separates from the stem. Also that they will cause some bruising on the stems and could cause black or blue discoloration on the walls of your terrarium,

I dont get it. all these people talking about flushing and stuff but no real tek on flushing for the next harvest. From what I've gathered you just pick em after the spores drop and then water the perlite a little bit. After that it's just a matter of waiting a week for em to grow. Hope this helps

@tylerf1069 - It is fine if the caps are open, either way the psilocybin/cin will be oxidized. The thing is that when caps open they have the same amount of psilocybin/cin as when they are closed, so opening the caps just provides more weight and can make one think that the mushroom is less potent.

there no way to know for sure without a chemical test or microscope and I'm not a chemist but I grow and I'll tell you I would never eat any that weren't grown in a controlled environment that was completely sterile because deadly mold or bacteria can be fed to the mushroom. I sanitized every single thing i feed them including distilling my water.
