  • Dude, your killin me with the metal chisels. Go buy some plastic wedges. While your out go get 4 inflatable bags that the police use to get into your car. You will understand how they work when you see them... ARRRG MAN, for the love of PETE stop with the metal chisels....

  • who the heck? PETE? For the love of PETE????

I agree though, inflatable bags make is easier.

  • Looks Real Good man. good job! :)

  • I was just thinking, you have 90 videos and growing dedicated to this project. At 10 minutes or more each, thats roughly 17 hours that you have spent just sharing it with us...THANKS!!!!

Your #1 fan in E. TN.

  • What is used to keep the parts from sticking together?

maybe there is a practical limit to how big a mold piece may be?

if they used wax, heating could have helped.

    what a piece of art.

  • just use the old vaseline.

  • Alright Bob, were starting to wonder how you gonna fix up all of those imperfections in the B1. and of course all the other stuff. When you gonna make a new vid. WE NEED A NEW VID!!!!

  • I've been watching all of your videos and i think its amazing what your doing here. i actually work on the B-1B as a hydraulics specialist. For its first flight i think it would be cool if you launched it on the dyess flightline, with all the real b-1's right beside it. Well keep up the good work guys. i'll be watching all of your videos.

  • Dyess AFB Presonel meet us in Breckenridge and filmed the model. It will be there for the B-1B aniversery.

  • Yeah, his will be the only one to get of the ground, ahahahaha. Sorry I was an Ammo troop at Barksdale had say it.

  • And after all that work, it's MILLER TIME! Great job guys!

  • I wonder if anyone has calculated the wing loading at 200lb's? amazing project, cant think of a better jet to do. You gotta do onboard video maybe on a wing pylon with a brushless turbine generator like the real thing. cant wait to see this thing first take off, totally mind blowing sound.

  • awesome work.

having worked in the composites industry making aerospace parts for anything from the drop tanks on a blackhawk to trusses on the space station i have a liiitle insight. A. try to wax and partall the mold edges when doing part bonding in a mold. B. try to use plastic chisels and putty knives on your part/mold (easier said than done, I know). start with a metal chisel then continue with plastic and air. but you are the man.

  • Bob, Dad, Butch and team. Inspirational, you guys did it! Take a bow. Can't wait to hear those engines and see this thing move. Cheering you on from Sweden, Trosa, Richard

  • you are my hero! i have learned more about fabricating using fiberglass watching your videos than any other i sat here for about 3 days and watched every one. I have an ambitious project that id like to start taking a model of a Zonda R and making it full scale on vid one you started the first plane by making ribs and id like to do the same to make my car. I have looked all over youtube to find out how to scale up a model and have found nothing i love the plane and you are my inspiration

  • Bob

we drove up today to see the plane in person.

All I can say, is that it is even more awesome than I thought.

we had to leave after you flew your orange jet

    nice flight btw

check out the vid we shot at my channel

    jacksarebetter

  • i have seen a guy use a air nail gun he made a funny hammer to go on it and used that for getting the mold off

  • Now that is just Epic!!

  • nice job well done

  • btw about RC ingeneering: how much calculations are inside it? I mean, as i was building my first RC back in russia, my teacher just told like "that's gonna be about that long.. thats about that. Weight.. well i guess it will be under..."

How about the B1? Is it just build by intuition, or are there real calculations and computer simulations behind this machine?

  • OMG its ALIVE.....a beast is born and its name.....B1

  • Did you hear that Sonic BOOM???!!!!! It was the sound of a B1B being born!! Great job Bob and guys keep it up, Japan

  • Holy s... Bob, when I first saw your video's I was amazed. This must be the best engineered RC I have ever seen, and also the biggest. Congrats to you all. Put some external tanks on it and fly it to europe.

  • Yeahhhhhhhh!!! Finally its alive and out of the shell. Awsome. Jobs Guy! Wish I could be there to help u get it out. Now its time for some rest. Hope u have a good time there in Texas jet meet. If u can take a video. C u soon at the shop.

  • Congratulations Bob & Dad!

Many thanks to all your elves too! Sandy -- thanks for helping Bob upload his video. ENJOY! Now "relax" at your meet.

  • Oh man, I just wanted to get in there and help ya with a couple of 15" pry bar/ nail bars! Get some leverage happening.

    Awesome project!!

  • awesome awesome awesome.

    Kinda like opening an oyster!

  • It's like seeing someone opening the best christmas gift you could ever imagen.

  • "I Donated To The B-1 Model Project" -- Upload Photos

Bob put in a request for positive vibes in Episode #77, 20:10, asking for photos of B-1 T-Shirts be uploaded to RCUniverse. Bob & his elves have done so much for us so how about we send them a smile!

I snapped a shot, went to the RCUniverse link in the More Info Box of #77, created an account, found "Post Reply" in the lower left of window, found "Click Here To Upload Images" at bottom with an OK below that.

Send a photo, note & smile!

  • Awesome as always, thanks for sharing what will be an invaluable resource for years to come for modelers interested in working with fiberglass and documenting this project. Theres a huge amount of surface area to release there,a rubber mallet and high density plastic tree felling wedges might make that a bit easier in the future. This will be one of the greatest projects of its time for years to come.

  • Looking good Bob! send us some video from Texas, would love to see what everyone else has.....

  • wow, it's like watching the birth of a titan, simply amazing. cant wait to see more

  • You need to blow some air down into the side of the mold. to help break it loose.

  • WOW!

It looked big before... Now it looks really biggerest! lol I can't wait to see it standing on its feet with full paint.

  • wow!!!!!! :)

  • This is an incredible plane!

How are you going to fly it? From the ground, or will you have an FPV video link so you can be 'onboard' and fly as though you were in the cockpit?

  • it's a shame there is no other way make it easier to remove them molds and save yourself some tie and effort. regardless, she is AWESOME!!! I've been watching from vid one and am glad to finally see her born. can't wait to see her in the air. I might even shed a tear. LOL

  • Great video as always ;D

  • hi bob awesome do not come near to it i have seen it from the 1st to now i am well speachless i have seen models before my time but this is the 1 i can't wait to see it in the air i hope you get in evey mag's and on the news too all over the planet i reacon it will be flying on ...................212 video but as always from eveyone from youtube keep the good work going .

  • Bob

    great job

we hope to meet you in person tomorrow.

  • Whooohoooo!!! Great job! Absolutely Amazing!

  • Finally! You guys rock.

  • Absolutely glorious. I've been on board since video 1, and learned a lot about composites as well. What I have learned has helped with my education as well. I am an mechanical and aerospace engineering student and did some research this summer as a part of the NSF. We built two UAVs and I am continuing on the R&D of a plane my fellow students designed for their senior project. This Saturday is it's maiden voyage. Its been fun watching this project and has helped me with my own work. Good Luck!

  • This is every bit as painful as childbirth to watch!!

    Rough stuff, real stuff!

  • thx for load it up! its awesome and every minute of this movie is a heartbeat of your community!

THX and we waiting for your next vid!

  • Great work guys. I think you need to hire a camera man though. Or maybe put the camera up high with a wider angle view of the shop.

Thanks for posting all your vids on this project!!

  • So the real question is, did you all think you were going to Bob's gym last night? Bet there are alot of sore folks today! Great job guys! Love it!

  • holy freakin crap dude! Awesome!!!!

  • i wish i could do something like that

  • tail seems to be causing trouble lol hope it al goes well for you 5*

  • doesnt the fuse need a hull for stabilisation and stresses at this size and weight?

is carbon fibre really strong enough?

    amazing

  • requires suckers on each side of the mold to separate

  • I am very small with my project : Crotale Dm

  • wohooooo yes big project I love it

  • the long awaited moment!

  • Wohoooo!
