Back in 1989 I wanted to name my first daughter Sunny because of this song; it gave me such a warm & good feeling & my new baby had blonde hair... I thought she looked "Sunny"... but my mom had a fit and said that name would never do. So I named her Jessica... only to find that a million other women that year named their daughters Jessica.... still makes me mad to this day.... even my daughter says she would've preferred Sunny... so; name your kids what you want!! And enjoy great music, ALWAYS!!

"sunny" from del shannon is a total other interpretation, compared with that from james brown for example.

sorry, but del does not reach the level of james brown - in this song
