BARF Diet, Rocky the Pitbull/Greyhound Eats RAW!

@joclovesprince92 It was a hot day. I had waited about ten. And he didn' t suffer any harm, and was ok.

By the way, I was just starting this diet plan with him, so, that is why his teeth still had some tarter/plaque and he was just a little skinny.

But both got better as I learned what, how much, etc to let him eat.

Due to some SERIOUS verbal-emotional-mental abuse from my soon-to-be Ex Husband, I have lost all three of my dogs...He'd surrendered my dogs to Humane Society and is defaming my character....

NASTY situation.

I'm sorry to say I will have to get all this straightened up and try all over again elsewhere.

Does the meat need to be frozen and thawed before fed,or can i feed fresh cut buther's meat?

@MrFriggoff You can do both. No, it does not need to be thawed if frozen, BUT, for the first week, keep and feed frozen so the dog learns to eat it slowly. After that, it can be raw, stored in the fridge.

I just get the packaged meats from the supermarket.

Whoever said pit bulls were to turn mean on the raw diet?? This is PROOF that is a myth.

@lisachociej Yes but this isn't a pure pit its crossed with a greyhound a very trust worthy breed when it comes to human attacks.

@whatdickhead45 No. Breed has NOTHING to do with it. I know of a greyhound that I had worked with a few weeks ago that was food aggressive. Thankfully, that went away with the Raw Diet.

The owners and i think the reason was because of some dye or preservative that was causing her aggression.

I should add though, that I will NOT let this stop me in my efforts to get my business running smoothly.

I currently have a Great Dane/Yellow Lab/Collie mix and the Beagle.

They are so best friends, and since my friends and I all complained to Marietta Police, the Humane Society, Dog Warden, etc, I rarely see ANY food on the sidewalks anymore.

But, I still have to be VERY watchful.

When we find the person responsible, WE WILL PRESS CHARGES.

Sadly, Rocky died of Cyanide Poisoning in March. Some REAL BIG IDIOT in my town keeps putting out breads, etc, soaked in Cyanide and it killed my dog and several of my friends' dogs and cats. Rocky ate that food before I could stop him. I am VERY angry at whoever it is that has been doing this for YEARS, and I'm angry that Marietta Police do nothing!

We, my husband and I, are about to adopt another dog! We have a Beagle, and we will be getting another Pit Bull mix, ASAP.

This is sooo cool.

how do his stools look..any blood? Ive thought about boiling chicken deboning it, then mixing the bones and broth in a blender.

@nattyicse No. His scat will turn white like chalk after a couple of hours, then, after a day, will crumble to a powder.

He will eat the bones and meat completely raw, and have no trouble. It's funny b/c the grass IS getting much healthier...As, the acidity in his urine is not so bad anymore, either.

And he loves to gnaw on pork and soup bones.

What is so good about that its basic stuff.By the way that mix of dog would chase down and kill most things,thats what they are bred for over in th UK.No matter how much training you give it its still in there

@nattyicse true. That is why people MUST store things like Anti Freeze well out of reach of children and pets...It tastes sweet, but, shuts down the kidneys....
