  • Howdy, I am flying a double horse 9116, it is fixed pitch with motor driven tail blade and it it yawing uncontrolably, i assume it is something with the gear or back motor, i was wondring if you could help me out.

  • AWesome, thanks for this just getting into the 'sport' ;)

  • I like the music. It reminds me Super Mario RPG on the Super Nintendo.

  • Hi Mr Dave i am a first timer rc pilot i have a comet 500 can you give me an advice about main blade do i have to screw it really tight? pleas reply...

  • Hey this video was really great. Keep up the good work!

  • great 2 see the piccolo im 46 been flying planes and helis since i was 17 i have the piccolo and the piccolo airwof there great helis

  • I've heard some call Helicopter, rotary wing.

  • Super Modelle S H O W - H E L I

  • Awsome vid man but quick question... did u get advertising payment from petsmart for that 5 second pose charishing the frisbee :)

  • Thank you for sharing what you know to people just learning.

  • Very good vid. Thanks

  • I actually like the music...

  • hello sir im ronald from philippines and im your no. 1 guide in helianyway i have favor to you can u make a video for a 3d or inverted lesson like that in your video thanks

  • u rock nice vid

  • I don't agree with his saying that you NEED to use both thumb and forefinger on the left stick. I've tried flying that way and I have MUCH more trouble keeping throttle input separate from yaw input (or vice versa) than I do when just using my thumb. Furthermore, I see plenty of professional 3D aerobatic pilots that just use their thumbs on both sticks too. It's purely a matter of personal preference and not a "rule" of any kind.

  • You could always start with the plan of buying stuff off some people for a low price and then selling to other people for a higher price.

    Thats a supermarket.

If you told a bank that was your business plan, they wouldn't loan you a dime.

The bank will say people just won't pay you the little extra money for the convenience, they will just go to the supplier.

  • What is a business plan?

If you go to a bank wanting money for a business you'd like to start you'd better have a plan! A business plan!

    What's that?

A business plan is a planny sort of plan to show a bank you can make money.

Banks will not bank on you until you have a business plan.

Did I just use a lot of words without saying anything?

    Sorry.

Isn't the plan to make shit loads of money?

  • i know thiz wampire female at left from amiga adventure game um she sucked her name from my memory don remember thanks for tip ( suction )

  • with helicopter like that big one it will go unless you controll the helicopter with the right stick to make it hover or you will have a crash

  • this video was very gay

  • Simple, direct and well explained... :)

  • i love your videos,i probably have seen all of them 500 times. i love planes and choppers and such. all your tips are very helpful. i fly the firebird phantom (why did they discontinue it!!??) your #1 fan, robert

  • hello, love your videos, iam a old dude new to rc helis,i have honeybee fp v2 ,about to start flying, i hope,

  • i just have to say that you are an insperation for me to keep trying this heli stuff. so far im not good at anything just the coaxle ones. i have a trex600 and a blade4003d that im good at crashing. this is all new to me so i just keep on trying i guess. i just got a training stand maybe that will help. so far it's just been a lot of money ...lol lol.

  • I've played some video games that required more finesse to control than a RC chopper. :P

  • Thanks for the videos you have produced, they are good tutorials for those of us contemplating buying a RC helicopter. I intend to purchase the Blade 400 one day and a simulator to practice on before I get ahead of myself.

Your videos are a good resource.

  • can u help me i hav a udi 0805 its not hovering up plz!

  • @samrejijoseph Adjust your trims, move the sticks super gently and make sure there is no wind. :-)

  • which simulator is a good one?

  • @sepurveda The best simulator, is one that simulates flying a T REX 450 covered in razorblades up a Niggers rectum.

  • That's sad how people (or should I say "kids") complain about such little things like the music. Dave, I want to thank you for all the work you've done to make those vids. I learn a lot from you and all your videos. Let me tell you that after one year of learning and practicing, I now fly a simple Blade mSR to a Trex 550. Thank again for your great work.

    Frank

  • @frankygoestocanada ... The vid is awesome. Nightflyyer is a natural teacher and an obviously accomplished pilot and builder. However the "music" is distracting from the video and quite annoying.

  • WTFs the deal with the weird circus music?

  • @truckerjer they should just put this video between Dora the explorer and Go Diego Go.. I mean, seriously, listen to the song!

  • borring

  • like

  • power steering wtf ? How do you explain that V-bar helis has more power then?

  • I got a Storm 450 Carbon fiber... Have you tested it? If so, what do you think of it?

  • I am trying to find out, how much power the blade 400 produces full pitch and full power? In other words, if we would put one of those scales we use to weight fish under the helicopter, it would show how many pounds or how many kilos?

  • You dont haft to hold the joystick with both your thumb and pointerfinger you can hold it however you want

  • @thercpoop i hold it with my full fist no actually only thumbs but i fly airplanes i have a esky belt cp flew once crashed repaired never tried again

  • I wish you did not show yourself letting the sticks go and snap back to center, When your learning, flying around, or even doing 3D you always want your fingers on the sticks at all times. Other than that, I think it should be helpful to others.

  • Thanks .... Thanks .. has been very helpful to my new hobby!!!!!!

  • Very informational for any skill level. Thanks for posting!

  • this is not a video game! this will really get you in serious trouble! lol love that! i know it's true, but it still sounds funny :)

  • Hey i just bought a Blade 400 my very first helicopter ever! i have had FSOne Simulator for 2 years now and decided to get me a 3D heli. I thought i was ready for it but WOW its so sensitive in the air!! way different from the simulator... good thing i havent crashed it. Your vids have thought me a lot!! Thank you for your vids :D

  • i had one of them it broken the 1day. i wish i can flay it like that !!

  • Where can I get a training pole like that? I Have been having some major problems getting my Dragonfly 400 tuned correctly. I appears that all is working until it lifts off then it begins to spin and pirouette. I have tried everything that I know to stop it but it still does it. Any suggestions?

  • @LigerZer077 he has videos about that

  • Everyone check out my classic FP Piccolo video from back in the day on the ikarus forums & all over the net. Anyone remember seeing it?

  • my heli fans are spinning fastly but not going up

    so somebody plz help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @kamalappu Take a look at the swashplate.

  • trying to set up a 3d heli i nee some help but your vid helped me so much thank you

  • In Soviet Russia, heli flies YOU! ;)

  • Wondering if i could get the nine tips of flying an RC heli like you sent Av8r2991

    Thanks,

    Spencer

  • dont let that the you fly heli! heli must fly you! :P

  • i would love to see your 9 heli flying tips.

  • Cool machine Dude, but the music is woeful.

  • I just got a free small rc heli from a friend and this helped me out so much, t hank you!

  • Someone please!!!! Tell me what stick movements is needed to turn a heli

  • Could you please send me your nine tips for heli flying? Thank you

  • Sorry 4 the question how much cost a Rc helis? plz :)

  • i just crashed my blade cx3 replades inner and outer main shaft as well a blades and swashplate as well as the nonadjustable linkages my trims are not enough to kepp it still at hover i have to hold the right stick halfweay back and halfway to the right i am afriaed to touch the servo horns unbtill i know whick way to move them plese help!!!!!

  • its Frisbee old timer

  • hi folks and welcome to. brouhaha

  • how did u build that stand for your helicopter or ware did u get it?

  • i have a problem to set up my tail rotor in good position an good angle, heli is honey bee king 2.

  • that is such a cool stand, where can i get one of those?

  • Hi Dave. I'm sure you've heard this question like a million times but I need you expert opinion on which RC heli should I start on. So far I've narrowed it down between the Esky Lama V4 and the Esky Honey Bee V2. My flying experience so far is on a Syma S107, had it for abour a week and so far I only crash it like 5 times. Any comments and recommendation will be gladly appreciated. Thanks

  • @kusokurae21 if you wanna get into 3D you should get the Blade SR if you just wanna hover around and dont want all that 3D get the honey bee V2

  • Comment removed

  • Hey Dave, do you have instructions on how to build your heli stand for a 400 size helicopter?

  • Comment removed

  • is the exceed rc's blu-ray any good? whats the difference between plastic and aluminum rotor setup?

  • Love the antenna ball on the tail : ) thanks for the vids. they help a lot

  • RC Helicopters are so cool. Can't wait for my dad to buy me one!!! WOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hey man you should open a rc flying school :D

  • im a bit of a plane man my self but really getting into helis over the past few years,

back when i was learning to fly planes, rc helis were very expensive and not many electric kits were available or they were very experamental in, i can remember when the picco was released, i sooo wanted one lol but nowdays with the likes of the blade 400, its truely an engeneering marvel, it still strikes me as amazing how far rc has come in only 10 years or so,

  • nice music

    like super mario

I'd like to tell a story of my life on it

    :):):)):)

  • good video! i just got my first rc heli a Blade MSR, i believe you also have one of these that was given to you.

4 channel is a bit hard for a beginner like me but im able to hover it & have started moving around but struggle when heli is coming towards me or side on lol.

    keep em coming :)

  • Thanks for your educational vids. Can i ask how much of this particular video is applicable to the smaller indoor (mini) choppers?

  • maybe if you gave me a rc heli i could practice hahaha

  • IMF!! This vid has been a life saver especially that tip on pulsing the sticks, I've always jerked them around. By the way do you have a BladeCP+? That's what I use.

  • Very informative, thank you. I am learning on a Blade 400 and I am getting to grips with the handling, took it up quite high and moved forward about 10 metres to bring it down on a really nice landing, mainly to do with Sim training which helps a lot, but keeping in mind that I fly the heli and not the other way round was a very good tip!

  • i would like to see a vid on the different types of heli 2ch 3ch 4ch ect and difference between fixed pitch and coaxial im new to this stuff and i would like to know what to look for after my begginer heli!

  • very good tips!

  • thanks for the helpful tips !!!!!!!

  • lol cruddy camera but AMAZING tut thanks!

  • 5 thumbs fr u...!!! GBU

  • You should do a video on flying 3d...for example you said that you should pulse the stick when controlling the heli and don't hold it fully one way or the other or it would cause the heli to roll...is that how you would roll when your in 3d mode, by pushing the stick fully one way or the other?

  • Thanks Pappy for useful tips....... keep it up and i'm taking flying certificate from you..... i have kds450c.......

  • 7:07 youre not pulsing!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You should patent and sell that training stand. Really great tool and great instructional video. You da man!!!

  • I hated the picolo heli, mine shipped with a motor that was too weak to lift the supplied battery, when i replaced the motor and battery it took off great but would never hold its trim settings and the slightest draft would disturb its flight. oh and upon even the lightest of landings u almost always broke a landing skid strut, plus all in it cost as much as a eco8!

  • Another nice video you got here.

  • Good music!!! :)

  • Having trouble getting my 4003d to hover. It seems like i need alot of trim just to get it off the ground. As i roll on power the heli would lean over to the left with zero stick input

Does anyone have a video of initial setup and first flight info?

  • HI I cant decide between the blade 400 and the belt cp v2 do you have any reasons why I should spend the extra money

  • how can i build a training stand like your?>

  • whhahahahahhahahahahahahaha yu DONT know it...

  • SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME ! :]

Im a beginner, and i where wondering how i can control the copter to not spin round when it is in the air. REPLY. =)

  • set the freakin' trim dude.

  • Need more information buddy. What kind of heli do you have? What Gyro do you have on it? Could be a gyro problem but could be a trim problem too.

  • man :P It is a 3channel remote controller . but i have a Trim tab behind it,Is it that i should turn ? btw tnx for reply :)

  • Like I said, check the trim. It could be the trim tab on the back so experiment with it and see what it does. Also try and adjust the gain on the gyro if you can. With that said, if you're serious about flying helis, I would invest in a T-Rex 450 electric heli. It has all the functionality of the larger nitro helis with a fraction of the cost. It will also be much easier to handle than what you have now which will make the hobby more enjoyable for you. Parts are cheap too in case of crash.

  • what is gyro?

  • to dhart1977, My problem occur when I change the head to CNC and seen then I coud fly the heli no more..I am the beginner so I am not sure how to fix it haha

  • just wanted to say awesome videos, im new to the hobby and have been learning alot from you. Thanks again.

  • where can i get that training stand i have that e flite 400 amoung others and i think that would help me learn to fly it

  • This is seriously a great video!

    5 Star!

  • One question, I just stumbled upon your videos so I will ask you. Why is it when I go to slowly take off my heli, it starts to lean to the right. I have tried to trim it out and unless I go hard trim left I cant get it to respond. All controls work so what can I do?

  • I have the same problem with 2 of my ex heli..didnt know wat to do...did you fix it?

  • not yet. i know in forward flight one blade moves faster than the other and creates more lift but not while its sitting. I may try adjusting the control horn and put it on the last hole for more throw so a little adjustment will go farther.

  • dhart1977:

I think thats because of the tail rotor.

  • the tail is not turning, its like its trying to bank to the right.

  • Yes, but the tail rotor not only rotates the helicopter but moves to the right (or left). It works like a little ventilator.

  • yes, but the tail rotor is not going to take the whole heli and try to turn it over.

  • But it does. lol

  • hi dave once again i wanted to know what is the soloution to my heli shark 450 when i turn on the heli light on gyro keeps blinking and also reciver and the beep beep and solid beeeeep but lights keeps blinking what do you this is the problem with heli

  • You can only get close. The rest is the hard part and why most people give up.

  • A real 4-6 channel heli with a tail rotor will never hover on its own very long. They require constant stick inputs and very tiney ones, at that. Good luck.Dave

  • Thanks kindly for your comments. So sorry I have not had a chance to get back to you very quickly.

If you see my latest video, 300th, you will see how many emails I have and you will know why. LOL.

    Tips away in a PM.

  • ronaldo

  • Please can you give me your nine tips of flying an RC Heli?

    NZ

    -King Of The Skies-

  • On the way in a Pm Good luck.

  • @Av8r2991 just a quick thought, if your the 'king' of the skies why would you be asking how to fly?

  • Gyroscopic precession Dave ! when explainining the Bell Hiller mixing theory.

  • ur videos are really helpful, thank u so much

  • Thanks kindly.

  • Thanks very much.I can fly 3D now.Remember me?

  • Great. Yes, I recognize your name. Good your flying.

  • how much does the first one u showed costed?

  • I paid $450 2 years ago for it, with the radio.

  • yeah it might be your trim

  • I have a SPEKTRUM DX6I with a blade 400 3d heli ... On the right stick when i push forward the rotors go backwards and when i push backwards the rotors go forwards ... I took the blade to a hobby shop to install new servos and the guy messed up my original controls ... Can you HELP ??

  • it dosent sound like it was your servos that were the problem. all you need to do is go through the dx6i's menu and look for 'reverse' and try reversing the elevator.

let me know if that helped

  • hey Joe! How s it going ?

  • That is true.

  • Reverse the elevator servo on the TX and all should be well.

  • give me one of you rc toys :P i don't have enough money to buy one :(

  • yes

  • technically yes but u have to have it set up right u cant be flying around and then just take ur hands off and expect it to stop and hover. helis arent self correcting.

  • Hey NightFlyyer that practice stick for your helicopters, is cool you should patent it.

  • Thanks sir.

  • nice video...could u PM me the 9 tips please?

  • Sorry so late, over 2500 emails in my box. Tips are away in a PM. Good luck.

  • Very good video. Could you please send me those 9 tips you speak of? Thanks.

  • Thanks kindly for your comments. So sorry I have not had a chance to get back to you very quickly.

If you see my latest video, 300th, you will see how many emails I have and you will know why. LOL.

Thanks. Tips on the way in a PM

  • Hello Nightflyyer,whats the difference between a 315 mm blade and a 325 mm blade{aside from the 10 cm's=)}is there a perforfance difference,more controle??

  • Thanks kindly for your comments. So sorry I have not had a chance to get back to you very quickly.

If you see my latest video, 300th, you will see how many emails I have and you will know why. LOL.

More lift, blades run a bit slower too, and easier to fly. Just like bigger wings are better for planes. But it is marginal, and you would have to be a good pilot to feel the difference. Good luck.

  • Hello NightFlyer.

I'm always checking here to see what new tips and reviews you got for us. Thank you for all your advice and time.

Can you please send me the 9 tips?

Also, why is the name NightFlyer? It reminds me of Knight Ryder the car. Anyway thank you for your help.

  • Tips away and thanks for the kudos. I am nightflyyer, since I wrote all the night flying articles in the 70's in magazines and still fly a lot deep into the night with lights on my planes and helis.

  • gday dave . i got a heli with a tail rotor that is pointing up not pointing on the sdie whats the deal with that dave is it ok , my heli still flyes really good in doors as well outdoor with very little wind i am a newby so be gentle its a 3ch its a Huan Qi 813 thanks anyhow ...

  • Yes, see my flying disco ball video. It is the same on that. Since there is no cyclic head steering it uses the rotor to move the heli forward and backward. Coaxials need no tail rotor for yaw, so they did it that way. Not as effective, but works.

  • hi can you please send me the 9 tips

  • ok>

  • who is the artist of the song in the background, thats hobby music for sure

  • its in my editing program.called Playground Time

  • can you send me the 9 flying heli tips

  • On the way in a PM.

  • Finally!! Exactly the kind of basic video I was looking for. I didn't know anything about RC Heli's. Now I have a few ideas to build my own. Thank you so much NightFlyyer. You rock. Keep teaching us. :D

  • Thanks very kindly. I have others to watch too, and hope they help. Good luck.

  • hiya, i noticed when you showed your tail, you have a lot of movment, i have a HBK2 and there is very little movemnt either way and i was just wondering would this affect my tail authority, would changing from stock servos make a difference

  • Servos wont make much difference. It is the end point adjustments on the tx that you can make it run from stop to stop, usually. Too much is also difficult to control. As long as you can hold the tail and make good turns, you will be fine.

  • It goes in between the tail servo (or tail rotor motor) and is set to apply opposite pitch and wind force to the heli when jerked to the side to side from wind thrusts or radical moves. Max pitch is usually only about 4 degrees each way.

  • I have 5 Piccolo V2's. they have no servo's or boards. I pd 10$ each. Can you reccomend what i got to get to get them flying? I want 1 of em to fly and other 4 are for parts.

  • There is not much you can do with those elevator helis. Get a Blade MCX and you will be in heaven.

  • I thank you so much. I just wish you would of told me to get the McX earlier. I picked up one up today. (heli number 9) and i really got the feel of this little micro. I still crashed a few times but my error. When i master this one I will attempt my CPv3 again. Again I thank you. Your vids are great. ty ty ty

  • Pulse is the trick. My bad. I could blame it on the sun in my eyes but it was totally my fault. At least i got 20 sec's hovering time till back to the hobby store. lol.

  • Bummer. Well at least your not giving up. Crashing is part of the learning curve and every flight for me is just another lesson too.

  • Hi, thanks for the good videos. They are really useful.

I have an Honey bee FP just a few days back.

Can i have your 9 flying tips, please?

I want to know more :)

    Thanks

  • Thanks.; Tips on the way in a PM.

  • Is that a 6 channel or a 4 channel fixed pitch???

  • That is a 6 Ch, 3D stunt helicopter.

  • can i have the 9 flying tips plz? just ordered a honeybee fp today as my first proper heli (already had 2 picco z) ty

  • On the way in a PM. Good luck, and that is a good choice.

  • I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of my first RC Helicopter. I went for the 4ch fixed pitch 2.4 g honey bee. Was this a wise move? I was considering the CP2, but figured it may be too much for a beginner. Could you also send me your 9 tips please? Thanks for the informative vids. Tomorrows job is to make a trainng stand :)

  • its a wise move belt cp2 is pretty difficult to fly. i've just started off with belt cp2... dont event ask how many parts have i replaced. best of luck to you .
