Benchmarking doesn't mean much.

On my Galaxy S2 on Quadrant the highest I ever got before rooting was 3500-ish and on AnTuTu 6009 but I was testing on 1.6ghz and it got 7621 on AnTuTu and that was just one attempt without me closing background apps, optimising cache etc before it.

They're hugely changeable and if you look at the Arc and S2 quadrant you'll see a big difference but in real life performance the S2 just pimps the Arc.

While its nice having high scores it means nothing.

This is not a good test to run. The galaxy Nexus is on ice cream sandwhich and the s2 is on an older version of android. ICS could be more video demanding and take away from the score. its like Testing the same comp with one running xp vs the ram consuming Windows 7.

Actually to all the comments on boot up notice the S2 was running the media scanner, but the nexus didn't. I bet the longer time has to do with the internal storage being read.

I've had the Galaxy Nexus for half a day now, and i think it's better than the SGS2. Feels smoother, snappier, more premium. Screen is awesome too. I don't think any of these benchmarks are optimised or even usable on ICS. Apart from Antutu. Quadrant still isn't fully multicore compatible for christ sake

Not too suprised, when you look at what inside each phone buy I was thinking about how each OS differs these results before you mentioned it. I've got the sgs2, but I would'nt say no to the nexus. Had to stop myself from buying it last week as the differences seemed unworthy, I am getting it in feb anyway :/ unless htc pull something out the bag, because I miss htc sense badly, but samsung do magic too. read sone specs on a phone called the htc vigor and it seems it's gunna be a beast!

ultimately you have to decide if you want to pay more than £500 or £40 a month for a flagship phone which is more or less the same as the s2 except for ice cream sandwich . Or do you want a cheaper phone which is the same speed and such which will definitely get ice cream sandwich as it has been announced by Samsung via Twitter

These software benchmarks are completely pointless since one phone is rendering at 800x480 and the other at 1280x720. The best tests are real word uses, such as web browsing etc

@pucupucubumbum Phones differ from Run to Run :), if the phone had been on for a while the CPU would have had more time to warm up so to speak and would have got a higher score, doing the Boot then Test is the fairest way (to me) to test in a head to head :)
