@hmoh98 hahaha I forgot countries still used the F-5 as a fighter. I only knew that they were T-38s because our commander gave us a briefing on the punishments that were handed out as a result of their actions.
Someone sitting higher up has to post their view of the flyover! this individual had lower seats. Air superiority over the rest of the world! Ask Libya
Tressel received advanced email notice that this flyover would be too low but he failed to report it. (My apologies State fans - if it's any consolation, neither the sweet flyover nor bad jokes can change the fact that I walked home from this game with a huge frown).
Ok, spend millions of dollars teaching them to fly precise, fast and low and then wig out when they fly over a stadium. What a bunch of shitheads we have running the air force nowadays. I'm ashamed of Air Force leadership. No wonder our nation is a laughing stock.
@jrussell4711- The last time this happened was earlier this year when a C-17 pilot though he was cool enough to fly low over Alaska and instead ended up doing a nosedive and killed himself and lost a seriously expensive plane we only have 200 of. The reasons this is against regulations are important ones.
@gamer4life369 There is a big difference in energy management in a C-17 and a fighter airplane. The C-17 incident that you refer to was a steep pullup into a steep turn that exceeded the critical angle of attack for the aircraft. Once the critical angle of attack was exceeded on the inboard wing a stall occured and the aircraft did not have any room to recover. A tragic and senseless accident and very different from flying low and fast in level flight.
@TheHuffBalls Name calling is immature. Yup, they train them. Frequently. Low level precision formation flying out West for all USAF pilots and all NATO countries. Recurrent training takes place yearly and is a required for all combat pilots.
@jrussell4711@jrussell4711 Lol I'm not name calling. I'm just telling you what you are. You are ignorant. Of course the air force trains pilots to fly at low levels. Line of sight radar dection works via your height over the earth (the lower you are the lower the chance of detection).
@MrJimshot1990 I will be delighted to stake my "ignorant" and/or "idiot" 8,235 flight hours aloft (2,400 in fighters) and stack them against your flight experience any day of the week....
I'm sure that we can find some asinine motivation for this uncalled for action. Sounds like a bunch of wannabe desk jockeys out to make a sorry name for themselves. Or, a bleeding heart now in control... With the Obaschitte in power, one just never knows!
ive seen ones that are that low and nobody cared. Look at the TCU one in the related videos, thats really low. I personally dont see why the pilot should have been forced to resign.
I cant imagine how loud that must have been. When they do flyovers at Michigan Stadium they fly much higher than this and the sonic boom is incredibly loud. Must have been awesome to experience.
@porrdog Ridiculous? You've got to be kidding. Military rules are not just nice suggestions and when we don't follow them, innocent people die. If any one of these 'America's finest' killed someone months following this act, some of you would be calling for leadership blood for not grounding him sooner. You don't remember gthe B-52 pilot who planted his aircraft into the Fairchild AFB tarmac while trying to circle the tower in a BUFF. His wife and daughter watched in horror.
@porrdog My husband read on the Military.com page today 2/1/12 that his Congressman went to bat for him and he will be getting his wings back (he is a retired airforce pilot) if he hasn't already but he can no longer be a squadron leader. In the article from the Quad City Times back in 2010 it said that they had been approved to fly at a level of 500 feet above the ground but the airport says they were approved for 1,000 feet. Personally I think it's awesome! I agree with sdb2525 also!!!!
Ya I don't understand what was so bad about the flyover....It was awesome and I can't believe there is a lawsuit or whatever is going on over it. They do it at games all over the country so those douche bags need to lighten up. It reminds of my high school football games where the superintendent had the pregame music turned off while we were warming up because the parents couldn't talk to each other! It's fuckin ridiculous!
Unfortunately a lot of people have been killed or wounded over the years when Flyovers go bad! Leaders lose credibility if they don't discipline the pilots.
seriously what did it hurt flying that low, it's the United States of America and there's nothing wrong with showing it off! a few overly dramatic people always ruin things for the rest of us....
@aamorri1 give me 1 example when a single person has been killed at a sports event flyby. unfortunately you spew incorrect bullshit and clearly have no idea what you're talking about.
Did I say a Sports Event Flyover? Nope! Flyovers at Air Shows have gone bad. The Air Force/Navy doesn't want to experience the first accident at or near a football stadium. If they didn't have altitude standards, some pilots would try to get as close to the stadium and buildings as possible. Human and mechanical errors can happen.
@aamorri1 you said "fly overs" not airshows...you see at "fly overs" that's all they do. Fly over. At airshows they are doing acrobatics designed to display aircraft capabilities, much different than flying straight and level over a stadium. You said "a lot of people have been killed or wounded" when flyovers go bad. As for the pilots? Why the hell do they want to kill themselves during a flyby and who the hell are you to judge what "too close" is? When's the last time you flew a fighter?
The Air Force has said it violated the 1,000 feet rule and the pilots didn't get the waiver from the FAA to go lower. 1,000 feet over civilian population is the rule for every civilian and military plane. I didn't say anything about pilots wanting to kill themselves.
A flight at low altitude over spectators on the ground is a Flyover. At Air Shows, pilots Fly at low altitudes over spectators on the ground. Flyover!
@aamorri1 again show me 1 example of a person getting killed or injured during a "flyover". You have no idea what your are talking about and are being ignorantly dramatic. It appears you can't distinguish the difference between an airshow flight demo and a flyover. No they are not the same...you see virtually any military pilot is cleared to do a flyover.(straight and level) whereas only a few specific pilot can perform aerobatics as a flight demo for airshows.
@aamorri1 what the hell? why are you comparing an air show to a half second(if that) fly over of a stadium? please tell me how the two are similar because im dying to know. PLEASE provide an example of a stadium flyover gone bad.
How do they time that so perfectly? I wish I could have been there. Just watching this gave my goosebumps goosebumps. That was terrific...followed by a great game! Go BUCKS!
Shut the hell up about all the military talk. let's just admit that this was the best flyover ever. It is awesome on video...but when they were flying right over my head...it literally shook your asshole. It was fantastic.
Wow, this took a turn for the worse. It was a comment about a flyby at a football game - it was definitely not intended as an opening for the peanut gallery to discuss military history. Lighten up Francis!
@CrusaderEmber That precision is useless in Iraq, isn't it? Why aren't those flyboys in Iraq or Afghanistan defending the grunts being fed to the patriotic defenders of their respective countries?
How precise is your air force in neutralizing IEDs? As Hitler found out, the patriots in any invaded country will harass you till you give up and leave. The Commies in the USSR found that out when they tried to occupy Afghanistan. Afghanistan will sink the U S of A just like they did the USSR.
@curbshoppin No, your military meddles in the affairs of countries all over the world, like Iraq and Afghanistan. You have a MASSIVE, nuclear deterrent and yet you spend BILLIONS on jets that will be useless when Israel goads your bribed and blackmailed politicians into invading Iran. Iran has no nukes, neither did Iraq. Russia will defend Iran with nukes.
@beneehall so really the only downside of your statement is that we wipe out more of the yardape primates over there?? thats not too bad. Go crawl back into your shit hut and beat your wife/sister again.
@jgcane You've gotta be kidding. That no call did not cost you the game. The refs didn't cause Stanzi to get sacked on 3rd down. The refs didn't cause your receiver to be 2 yards shy of the first down mark on 4th down. Also, there were 8 penalties called on Ohio State and only 4 on Iowa so don't talk like the refs helped us win. The Bucks proved that last year wasn't a fluke. That they can beat Iowa even with Stanzi playing.
@jgcane Really? You idiots STILL haven't gotten over that? No, failing to keep Ohio State out of the end zone in the 2nd overtime and failing to get IN the end zone when they had 1st and goal from the 2 cost them the game. It may not have been pass interference but it was defensive holding. Pretty much the same penalty in that situation. It would have given OSU a 1st and goal from the 1 regardless.
@GreenDay1981 How can you forget that? Winning a championship is the best thing in college football and ohio state took that away from miami fans. There never should have been a 2nd OT
@jgcane I haven't forgotten it. I just know about to get over it, unlike you crybabies. You still had a chance to win the game and you FAILED. Get over it. If you think the OSU receiver wasn't remotely touched on that play, you're as blind as a fucking bat. Your defensive back was playing the receiver instead of watching the ball. That was his mistake. Refs notice those kind of things, you know. Again, it may not have been interference but it was definitely holding.
@GreenDay1981 crybaby? I have shead no tears. You know it was a bad call... So why dont you shut the fuck up. I mean your a fag, your name is "GreenDay" ha
@GreenDay1981 acting big or being big? You need to grow. If you were born in 1981 that would make you 29.... What are you doing on here then? Get a job you bum
sweet, but you have to wonder why the country is wasting money on a flyover.

This game was awesome right up until the 4th quarter. Not only did I freeze my ass off but OSU won... even though their records will show different.
Hmmm, I wonder if we get to change our record books to make this game a win. Since it was Terrelle Pryor that ineligibley won the game for them.
