Hi just wondered before I do anything. I need to do a full factory restore, but I can only do it through my dell inspiron disk.. Does this mean I'll loos windows 7 on my computer if I do it through the disk?

dude i dont have adobe reader only 8 and i cant download the newest adobe.im screwed and im about to buy a recovery kit from HP and im not sure if my pc can read it without adobe reader.

All this happened when I got an autoupdate from IE9. I did not like the new settings so I did try to delete it, it did not delete. I did system restore and everything was working until computer restarted. It went to blue error screen, now windows vista login page does not load. :( Do I need a recovery disc or full Windows Vista Home Premium reinstallation disc?

So making a recovery disk is pretty much like backing up all your personal files onto an external hard drive? The OS(operating system) isn't actually backed up on the recovery disk itself, correct? This is what I'm getting from reading other ppl's comments.

this vid is SO misleading, the option to back up your entire Vista installation by means of making a recovery disc is definately not open to ALL versions of Vista, but ONLY to Vista Ultimate and Business editions, the other versions of Vista only allow you to back up your files BUT NOT your entire O.S

so your information is wrong.

I have Premium as well on all of my computers and i double checked my information and i'm afraid you cant back up the entire O.S, you can only back up individual files......if you want Premium to back up your O.S then you have to use the Recovery partition to restore the entire computer or use the Recovery disk but it dosent back up your files, it only restores your computer to factory default, but my laptop which is Vista Business allows me to back up the entire O.S no problems :)

I recently bought a nenovo pc for 800 buck, and after a year i wanted to reinstall and recovery everything again. But the problem was it kept saying "this computer does not have enough space for temporary files. Windows installation needs at least 448 megabytes (MB) of space on any partiion for temporary files. To install windows, free enough space and restart installation.

Error code:0x80004005 Currently local disk (c:) is 513 gb free of 578 gb only used up like 60 gb for hard drive'

I have a friend that needs a recovery disk, if i make one on my computer can i use it to recover hers (both are vista), and will any of my personal files go too, and what about her personal files. will they delete, she needs her computer for school, but cant risk losing everything on it ether.
