My best description of this would probably a watered down RTS. The goal of the game is to retrieve all of Captain Olimar's ship parts before the 30 day time limit is completed, and you have to grow and upgrade pikmin to accomplish this feat. It's not quite a puzzle game, but the kind of game in which you have to ration your time and (to a much much lesser degree) resources to complete the game.
