  • Forget the hair. Look at those arms...

  • This is my solo song

  • I could not enough of Fosse on Broadway -- I literally saw it 5 times. Fantastic!

  • Not as good as Liza! Not even close to her!

  • im doing this at camp! :)

  • She was almost Sheila in the revival of A Chorus Line. Amazing!!!!

  • The fuck is this shit?

  • I LOVE this! My dance studio had this as the closing number and it is very similar. I think this dance is VERY well done. I do think I prefer this than the original. Well, anyway, it's an amazing number! ;D

  • i prefer this than the original

  • I can't get over how amazing this is

  • bewitching ....

  • I'm sorry, but Rachelle Rak brought so much more energy and finesse to this piece than you-know-who. LM really didn't have the strength or subtlety to pull this number off (IMAO). Although, I agree her red outfit rocked.

  • Is the choreography towards the end different? Liza's is so delightfully skanky. This one not so much, although it's nice . . Liza's red costume helped, too.

  • I like Rachelle better than Liza. Just as an observer, I feel like Rachelle delivered so much more and she is more pleasing to watch.

  • Yeah Rachelle Rak!!!

  • Hmm... I never thought I'd say this but it's actually much more interesting to look at a voluptuous body than a... skinny body.

  • She's great!

  • She's fabulous in this performance :D her neck's gotta hurt the next day haha!

  • She doesn't get it... she's way too stiff!!

  • @dcr3102 she is the OPPOSITE of stiff! She is workin it!

  • rachelle is brilliant, i have no doubt if fosse was alive he would love the hair and the way it's used as a prop. more scope for more detail, that's what it's all about. top drawer performance 10/10 in my book.

  • @Andromaches awesome that somebody knows who originally wrote this song...most people think it was liza...typical, we are in america

  • Haha I used to watch this DVD and think that Ben Vereen was the dark guy in this number....then I saw all the leaps and tricks they had to do and was like "oh...silly me!" ;)

  • Ken rocks. Gorgeous guy

  • omg Rachelle Rak is sooo sexy.. Im truly inlove with that woman.

  • I love the dancing but she can NOT sing!

  • like glee says: it's just hair-ography...

  • @NatePredmoreMusic Hair-ography??? I know you are loyal to Liza M. but please lets give credit. Rachelle is a trained dancer /singers who is a legend in theatre/musicals in her own right. I loved her performance.

  • @NatePredmoreMusic Rachelle Rak is a great dancer, just look at Mein Herr and other performances she's done, she's been trained!

  • great job!!! i love this song xD

  • This is beyond great.

  • @jeanemail7 totally agree

  • man, think about how athletic those guys have to be. they're sliding around that stage, and taking those weird ministeps on their toes @ 2:08....AND it's choreography.

  • It's almost a tie between her and Pia Douwes version, but I like this one just a little more.

  • my favorite EVER! hands down...and she is so sweet...the BEST singer/dancer combo around. whew!

  • Omg this is the chick who auditioned for A Chorus Line, but didn't get it

  • I bet if i got a perm my hair would look just like that!! it's such a hot look and i love tight curls, wish my hair was still like that.

  • @JimisSweetAngel my hair has always been like that since i was born it's natural but i don't like it that much though

  • pia douwes is better!!!

  • I agree absolutely... *thumbsup*

  • Oh, yes, I do love her hair. GORGEOUS !!

  • I saw her in Every Little Step. She is amazing - totally should have been cast as Sheila. Love her style!

  • Rachelle is my cousin, and her sis, m other cousin, is my godmother... so proud of rachelle

  • I had the pleasure of meeting Rachelle Rak and she is lovely. She is currently performing in Sessions at the Algonquin Theater in New York.

  • Pretty good

  • i love this so much! everything from the song to the choreography is amazing!

  • my dance class has a dance to this and its all girls and sum of the girls pretend to be the guys its GREAT!! i love this song!

  • she is workin that hair

  • she always works that hair. it's her trademark.

  • This was good. Not as good as Liza, but she made it her own which was good. Didn't want to see anyone imitate Liza when no one can compare to her. She did her own thing but it was still good. Nicely done.

  • Shes a much better dancer than liza but not a better performer

  • i did a sexy jazz dance to this song last year and got second place, next to Rich Man's Frug!

  • I just saw Every Little Step last night... she should have been Sheila hands down.

  • What makes you say that? I'm not attacking your assessment, it's just that they're both terrifically talented and I'm wondering why she should have "hands down" been given the role. I've had the privilege of seeing both perform live and would have had a very difficult time choosing between two such talented ladies.

  • This is how I see it. Deidre is such a polished pro and has almost a slickness about her. She knows what works, so I think she could probably play anything. However, I felt Rachelle would bring an real honesty and truth to Sheila that might have been lacking. I was rooting for Rachelle because it's her story, even though I agree both are talented performers.

  • I'm just jealous that it isn't showing here in Pittsburgh! It's Rachelle's hometown, and none of us have seen it yet!

  • agreed my cousin rachelle is amazing

  • This girl has a lot hair..... Liza didnt have that problem. haha! :-)

  • amazing that Liza would let a much better dancer be featured on her show. she is as egocentric as her mom was...

  • I can't address the egocentric issue.

My video description may not be clear. This is a song/dance that originally appeared in the 1972 show "Liza With a 'Z'" - but was revived as part of the 1999 show "Fosse" (released on DVD in 2002).

Other than perhaps providing the rights to use the song and choreography, Liza was not involved in this performance.

  • @theBestArts

Liza doesn't own the rights to this song. It was written and originally performed by Joe Tex.

  • Rachelle taught a class at my studio. she performed this for us there =) shes amazing

  • We had a dance workshop with her yesterday and she was amazing! Dhe's so lovely :D

  • can she dance? like really good? is she technical? really flexible?

  • ye she's a great dancer, we didnt see too much flexibilty but you could tell she was flexible, she focused more on the performance stuff rather than being really technical, but i imagine seh was :)

  • she came into our college to teach a dance class all week! she was amazing, she was so lovely:D x she gave us tips on how to be a better performer x

  • care to share those tips please??????

  • this woman is everything i want to be in a performer!!!!!

  • Agreed.

  • What I love about this one is she is having so. much. fun.

Also, cannot picture Liza doing this. Just...cannot picture her being that...earthy? There's an ethereal element to Liza even when she's doing something down and dirty, somehow.

    Also, thank you very much!

  • liza is different! just as good - just different.
