It's amazing that people still actually believe Obama. He has lied about almost EVERY promise he made during his campaign and he just recycled them last night. He still blamed Bush and the GOP. He did not mention terrorism or terrorists & what he is going to do to protect our country except increasing spending on our national defense. He lied (again) about earmarks. He said he needs to explain his health care plan better, but he didn't do anything but make "promises" about what it will do.

if everyone agreed to pay taxes in the first place (which is an unpopular AMERICAN notion) we wouldn't have the problems we have with Health Insurance, and overall quality of life . So the fact that he's following a popular desire is just what a president at the whims of a corrupt legislator/ senate would do.
Agreed. What is politically popular? Tax cuts (for the monied) and entitlement programs (for the unmonied, who would surely suffer badly and/or begin riots).
Republican-types, I think, would prefer to cut entitlement programs and let all those lowly bastards (whom they don't know and don't care about) die and rot in whatever "slums" they live in... I identify with the Democrat's (though I'm more independent) who would rather raise taxes than let the poorest die like dogs.
