@camycamera Its probly because you have the cracked version, but if u want to install it just download the non-cracked one and then install. the HEK will install after the other halo is put on your computer and all you have to do is make ur map and move it to the other Halo CE map folder. have fun creating maps!

no, 3ds max 2009 will not work with the bungie max exproter plugin, you have to use 3ds max 8

start->run>cmd>drag & drop tool into the command prompt, if that dosn't work make a short cut of tool.exe and run it on cmd

Only issue is that you need to be able to Export the .jms file from the modeler, and only GMax (via Chimp; very bugged and unreliable) and 3DS Max 1-8 (Blitzkrieg) or 9 (Bluestreak) can export them... The names in parentheses are the exporter scripts you run from the modeler.

3DS 9 is a better modeler all-around. I can model things ridiculously well now that I know how to use Editable Poly.

No HEK and 3DS MAX does not work for Combat evolved only custom edition.

ummm well the normal halo is called combat evolved "CE" but then you download a version of Halo Custom Edition "CE"

But you need combat evolved to install the custom edition

you have to extract the extracted file (weird, I know) -at least that's what I did.

open up a new command prompt by going to start, run, and type cmd. then drag the tool file into the command prompt that u made.

yes gmax works for the modeling, but you export the models and textures to a program called tool, which compiles it into a scenerio.

try this find the tool.exe, open up a new CMD then drag tool into cmd and press enter, it should give a list of info.

cmd is command prompt you can run it by going to the start menu and clicking run. when run... pops up type in cmd. then drag the tool.exe into the command prompt screen (cmd)

reinstall halo CE and make sure it's installed in the default folder, if your running vista you might need to make a folder on you hard drive that matches the default directory.

Well i've looked up the Error message and it dosn't seem to exist. Do you have Halo CE installed? Whats your computer Specs? as in Amount of RAM, Operating system type, Type of processor, graphic card, amount of space on your computer. If you don't know how to find that, click start, programs, accessories, system tools, the system information and it should all be in there.

I have Halo CE installed. My operating system type is Windows XP. The processor I have is a x86 Family 15 Model 4 Stepping 1 GenuineIntel~2792 Mhz. The amount of space I have is 1.96 Gb. I don't know where to find RAM or graphics card so thats about it.

all right, now what i suggest is, reinstall halo CE, Delete the halo CE directory completely, which will be in \yourdrive:\my programs/microsoft games/haloce

Then reinstall it, and then try to install HEK.

Find some tutorials for Gmax, also 3dsmax is not much different from gmax, gmax is a branch off of 3dsmax. If u think taking at tutorials made for 3dsmax is hard, try taking a tutorial like this one, and molding the designing for Softimage XSI or maya

Click the materials butten on the top right corner, there should be able to add or edit a transparancy setting in the shader.

ya it's definatly illegal, I dont think u can edit the models in halo Combat Evolved either. When i said CE, i meant short for custom edition of halo. This version was made to be edited, and only has the multiplayer maps, not the normal version.

sorry dude, been there, failed that. Only Halo CE models can be edited, the only importing program for the trial is HMT 3.5, but it sucks because the models you edit have to be the same amout of polygons/indices as the original model.

In case your wondering polygons are the sides of a model, and indices are the corners or points.

But you can always download halo CE, find illegal serial code for it, and a NO CD crack.

And that'll be a free version with limited capabilitys for multiplayer.

I wont give you any links though, you can research your self, i might get in trouble.
