  • Budgies are so dang cute. I have a little yellow one about 3 years old that I got from a family who had a super loud daughter and I've been trying to train her but it's so scared that I might scream at her. Recently she's started eating out of my hand so I think I'm getting somewhere but I doubt I'll ever be able to teach her to talk....

  • WOW. I've never seen anything like this. A budgie with an Australian accent. You can tell it's a woman's voice too. These guys beat parrots all to hell.

  • I could swear Erwin is trying to come on to me.

  • Awsome! I cant get mine to speak. But that voice sounds liek a ghost. But still kewl

  • And the other reason why I will never want a pet is that I will feel very sad when it past away.

  • @Clear4GPromo That is so sad. Pets bring so much joy and love into your life that even if you had one for a day it would be worth it. Don't miss out on so much love and friendship and companionship over the fact that they will pass on someday. They give way more than they take.

  • Lol, it sounds like a walkie talkie conversation. I think I would rather let my parakeet not talk, because this will get creepy lol, especially late at night.

  • @souldancer82 Sorry for your loss. I lost my budgie the same way, though he did live over a decade, and had a great life. He was the best pet I ever owned.

  • And no this doesnt look fake

  • @smigza :-) Nope. Definitely not! And you can see his gorgeous little breast moving with his more animated words. :-)

  • Yo dmexzz u ever owned a budgie before. Males dont shut the hell up when the learn to talk

  • @smigza So true! LOL. Hence his continual talking in this click. One of the reasons there is music on in the background is because he used to talk more with lots of sounds. :-) Like he was competing, LOL! He would talk with the sound off too, to me or to himself, but I wouldn't have got a constant stream!

  • i wish my budgies talked haha

  • @ZeannaGoesMeow It was a lot of fun, I have to say. I lost my little featherball when he was two, but my fiance and I are planning on getting another one when our life is settled. I plan on teaching him to talk too, if I can. Not all budgies are such good talkers. :-)

  • please look at my bird video I'm wondering if you think my bird is talking. it's the only video on my channel

  • @AmeliaRose4444 Hello! I will look later tonight. My youtube seems to be playing up at the moment. :-)

  • @dmxezz -,- Why dont u believe it? Persons like you make me angry.

  • @VogienBlogs Thank you very much for your supportive response. :-) I am used to comments like that, and I do find it a compliment that the doubters think Erwin's voice was too good to be true, because it shows how good a speaker he was!!!!

  • @dmxezz Believe it or not (as seems to be the case) he was an exceptionally good speaker. There are other examples excellent talking budgies here on youtube too. They all sound a little different to each other, but they have the same remarkable talent. That is why other budgie owners with talking budgies don't doubt. I take it as a compliment that you think his words were that good that they were spoken by a human. He really was that good. :-)

  • @dmxezz I have very expensive glasses which makes able to see anything possible and I can clearly tell this is a fake, battery-powered budgie.

  • @dmxezz Please, look up "Indian Ringneck Talking" on YouTube. Or search for "Bowie the Ringneck" and tell me how fake THAT sounds! Birds are remarkable. One Budgie is in the Guiness Book of World Records for having a vocabulary of more than one thousand words. They can certainly talk. Many Budgies just have that really low voice, and you can see it on other videos :3

  • Please give Erwin a kiss from me, he is a lovely, gorgeous and full of character lil budgie! I had a budgie v. similar in the sense he would talk non stop and even would say come in if anyone knocked on my bedroom door, and if the phone rang before I could say hello he would! I had him for a long time, 10 yrs and was heart broken when he passed away. Cherish Erwin bcos he truly is a v. beautiful, funny lil thing! Annie xx

  • @Classydesichick Awwwww, thank you Annie! I actually lost him soon after that video. He was only two years old, and had a tumour. :-( It broke my heart. I can still feel him on my shoulder, leaning in for a kiss, saying "Give us a kiss". Awwwwww, I love meeting other budgie owners on here, whose budgies also talked. :-)

  • @Souldancer82 My heart goes out to you....I really really feel your pain...May Erwin RIP...cherish his memory because remember you made his time on earth so special, and he was so loved, and knew and felt your love. He left feeling that love....Big hug to you, and I'm sending a kiss to heaven for Erwin too. Annie xx

  • How could you teach him lots of things? Incredible!!!

  • @Mshilalkose Do you know what: I never consciously said "I have to teach him X or Y specificallly. Most of what he learnt was things I used to say to him on a daily basis, and he picked it up. So, probably repetition is the key. Although, he was quite capable of remembering several versions of the things I would say too, so a lot of it was simply his ability too. :-)

  • is erwin a female or male ???

  • @kereminho100 Male. :-) You can tell by his cere (the part just above his beak. Blue/purple for males, and brown for females. :-)

  • SOO CUTE!!!!

  • My name is erwin... I am not insulted, just honored

  • @ErwinMaster Awww, thank you! I called him that because it was the shorter version of Aderyn (sp?) which was welsh for bird.

  • He is a really awesome colour i giv u thumbs up

  • @TheJeffhardy1997 I absolutely loved his colouring. Still the most beautiful I've seen in budgies. :-)

  • I have a Budgie that looks exactly like this and he talks too! : )

  • This made my little parakeet start chattering! Yes, he watches youtube when he is bored. He'll let me know when he wants to see what I'm doing on the computer. It's really cute. I wish he could talk though........ :(

  • @cherrygirl663 Awww, not all budgies talk. The little fella I got after my Erwin passed didn't talk, alas. But he was still a cutie. :-) I love their unique personality quirks. :-)

  • @Souldancer82 Yeah, my bird Pascal has a lot of personality... :P He is sort of weird.. lol

  • He got an Australian accent!

  • @dmcguire70 Hehe! Yep. He mimicked me for the most part, and I'm definitely an Aussie lass. :-)

  • Sounds like a player ha ha haaa ha

  • he is SO beautiful...he totally has an awesome accent (for me because I'm American) I was waiting for him to say "mate" lol

  • A lovely budgie - I have one looks very like Erwin - a hen called Squeaky...

  • oh wow! thats so cool! hes a very nice talker! I love his colors! Um also, can someone tell me how you pronounce "Budgerigar"?

  • @Cetaceans4life Bud-ger-ree-gar

  • Ok, so I thought that was the person recording for the first minute... that's just... wow. He sounds British.

  • @itsnegrojones LOL. People say he sounds Aussie or British. Most of the words he mimicked were mine, and my American fiance says I sound half british/half Aussie, so that must be the reason! :-)

  • That was amazing

  • @youbriggs He was amazing. :-)

  • An absolutely gorgeous Budgie, and so talented. Made me smile. Thanks.

  • @VBonsall Thank you! :-)

  • seems fake

  • lol

  • @souldancer82 omg.. im crying.. :'(

Oh! It really did that. :'(

  • @SoulDancer82 Erwin is an ANGEL! Very cute! I've lost one from a tumor too... :'(

  • @PopRockerPrincess Awwww, :-( I only found out AFTER he passed away. He looked SO healthy, and he was such a talker until the last morning. His last act was to ask me for kisses, until he couldn't talk any more. :-((((((( He was obviously in distress and wanted my face near for a rub. (I was holding him.)

  • @Souldancer82 reading this make me sad. I lost a budgie, on a boring Monday afternoon. I cried for hours, i still miss him so much. My budgie also wanted me near...

  • @Souldancer82 so sad when they want your kisses and then they're gone :'( I know about that :'(

  • @Souldancer82 I just lost my little Peanut, and am crying the blue out of my eyes, but adopted two new ones today. My other budgie, Petie, is grieving, too, he lost his best friend...my deepest condolences to you.

  • Erwin is ADORABLE!

  • @apking2 He was never sad, because he saw us as his family. He was always on my shoulder, and bouncing around talking, and playing in water - taking showers with me. He was very much apart of my life. When I got another male budgie after Erwin passed away however, he didn't want to interact one-on-one with humans so he mostly sat in his cage, so I got him a girlfriend so he wouldn't be lonely. :-) Each budgie is different.

  • this bird lives in the bedroom :D

  • @maloumie23 LOL!!!!!!!!!!! This is the first comment I received after managing to FINALLY change my email address for receiving comments.

His phrases (learnt from me) were very affectionate, and we did used to say goodnight to him often.... although his cage was OUTSIDE the bedroom. LOL

  • @Souldancer82 ahhaaahhahah :DD insane sound , i would record it with high quality mic its so fantastic :D

  • i dont know why, but i laughed so hard at this.

  • It sounds like a voice recorder that has serious recording issues

  • @WARRIORofHARDCORE LOL. He would talk to my Mum on the phone and she would say "he sounds like a tape recorder!" LOL, so I know what you are saying!

  • I Love his colour!!!!

  • @SweetStangHeat As soon as I saw him I knew he was the budgie for me. He truly had the most beautiful plumage. :-)

  • He's so cute. My Reggie loves to talk too ad he picks up new words all the time.

  • @LittleReggimite Thanks! I'm getting all sad listening to him again. I miss him, and hearing him as I type this response makes me remember what it was like to have his constant monologue in the background. He was a special boy.

  • @Bigredyetistudios Blue nose: adult male. lightish purple-blue: a young boy. (like erwin) White: young female. Dark brown: Older female. ^-^

  • @PopRockerPrincess Exactly. Erwin retained this cere colour for his entire two year existence. He passed away from a tumour. :-(

  • How old is Irwin. I have a very young budgie and his nose is exactly like his. Does this mean he is a she? Or is Erwin A guy?

  • @BigRedYetiStudios Erwin is a boy. His cere is blue-purple because he was one of the rarer budgie colours. Mostly they are blue. :-)

  • @Souldancer82 ok thank you.

  • His voice reminds me of.... Salad Fingers.

  • they dont cost much, yah theyre good ,but hard to train :) my budgie talks some words whats in radio every morning i put the radio on and he say Ra - Ra -ra!

  • i had parakeets years ago....how the hell do you get them to talk........or is it just a very selected few that have the Budgie IQ to do this

  • @inkey2 It's a mixture of things. Generally if you get a male budgie, and keep him alone (no other birds) you'll have the best chance of teaching him to speak. I think it also helped in Erwin's case that he was VERY affectionate, which is not normal for a bird. He was always on my shoulder and preening my hair and rubbing my face, and giving me kisses, so I think that made him more receptive to listening to me. :-)

  • that is wicked..

  • beautiful bird

  • What a wonderful Budgie! I am getting a budgie soon!

  • you know he thinks of you and th emoment that the words stuck in his head.. everytime he repeats something hes thinking of you

  • @carpetmonk Awwwwwwwww, thank you! And it was true. This bird was very affectionate, which isn't normally obvious in a bird. but he would rub my cheek with his, and ask for kisses, and preen me, so I think that when he learnt to speak he understood the endearments were affection too. :-)

  • @Souldancer82 "what are you after" classic! if you could only teach budgies to wink and nudge.. haha

  • i have a budgie but i got him from a rescue case. I had no idea they were verbal. He does copy my cockateel but at what age did you get your lovely bird? I would like to bond with my budgie (bleu) but I dont know how..any advice?

  • @1BattleAngel I hand reared my budgie, which helped with the bonding experience. My other advice is keep the budgie by himself (a male is most likely to talk) and interact with him all the time. My budgie was very affectionate (which is not usual) and so that meant we were always communicating. I think sitting on my shoulder helped him learn. :-)

  • hi guys can u tell me what name of these bird so i can look for him

  • @alzeerx parakeets

  • @alzeerx Budgerigar. :-) Or budgie for short. Simply amazing creatures. :-)

  • cute bird! Scary taking though :(

  • hes saying what you said to him like good boy and stuff

  • @ljk65 Yep. :-)

  • Budgies say the funnyest things with their creepy voice! Its hilarious!

  • @RandomJinxx Hehe. I'm so happy you enjoyed it. Their voices are a little strange. LOL.

  • Erwin is gorgeous, and very talented! Thanks for sharing, I had quite a laugh!

  • @MicheleMuir Your welcome. :-)

  • a budgie with a british accent? classic!

  • @funkybum LOL! So many people think I sound half-british, so it makes sense my bird sounds like that too, since he learnt from me. :-)

  • How old is he?

  • @ASJ1980 He was about 18 months I think there. It's been so long since I looked at the time stamps on the footage. He past away at two. :-( Tumour.

  • added to my faves! ^_^

  • @zabet04240 Awwww, yay! :-)

  • i bet you tell him/her that every day thats why he knows hoe to parrot that

  • @schoolboy526 I did. EVERY day. I loved him very much. :-)

  • ya me dio miedo no mamen. ha... ;)

  • Sounds like a porn movie with old people

  • @Channel450 WOW, LOL.

  • lovable

  • wow amazing!

  • i bought a budgie today and it is plain yellow and i named it lemon ^_^

  • @sonsovsamedi Ohhh, lovely name. :-)

  • beautiful colours :D

    soo cute :D

    i love budgies too :D

  • Can you teach him to say, "Erwin!!! Rub my feet!"

  • lol, he has a female voice XD

  • @tsure LOL. Does he? Hehe. I suppose it makes sense as he learnt it from me.

  • Amazing!

  • I think I hear some old Fauxliage (the band?) in the background...niiiice.

  • @43Coda YES! You do! One of my favourite songs actually. :-)

  • 1:04 - 1:09

    One word... Sex

  • someone has been watching porn

  • Well done! The males are the "Talkers"

  • @1toscany Yep. The males definitely are the talkers! Erwin was excellent at it! My second male budgie was not so good.

  • He looked just like my old parakeet. Only mine was female. I miss her. :(

  • @unterhozenspass I miss Erwin too. :-( These budgies make a little place in our hearts and it's so horrible to lose them. :-)

  • sounds like white noice

  • Ahh, he is adorable- bye bye baby :))))

  • @Helle1dscu I taught him that. Not intentionally, but I said it to him that often that he learn to say it. :-)

  • He talks well! Also a beautifully marked bird!

  • @1toscany Thank you!

  • this is so very diturbing @_@

  • O___O I think your extremely love-able birdie is trying to flirt with me...alrighty, I'll give you a kiss! ♥ I'm obsessed with birds...

  • @BudgieLuvers LOL! He was a little flirt, and a lover too. HEHE! HE was so sweet and affectionate. :-)

  • My budgie was same colour, hope Erwin stays alive forever, mine died 2 days ago

    you can watch him here:

    watch?v=7RNBnuknEXg

    watch?v=v9l-IzUYoO4

I miss Tootoo, he was so cute, as cute as Erwin, may all the parakeets find peace when they pass away and may we meet them in heaven one day... Amen.

I will pray for your Budgie to stay healthy and alive forever

  • @Nebokhadnezzar Awwwwww, I will go watch him soon. Rest in peace Tootoo. My Erwin had past away too, soon after this video. I miss him so much. :-(

  • he know so many frases ♥

He IS a very cute boy.;)

  • His attachment figure seems to be a human female.

  • @fuertherbube You are dead on correct. :-) I taught him nearly everything he knows, and most of it not intentionally, but just from naturally saying things each day, like "bye bye baby". He picked up so much. :-)

  • awww how do you get your birds to talk like that?

i have 5 birds and none of them are able to any of this :(

  • @sarah9884 Awww, your problem is that you have five birds. GENERALLY it's best to have ONE male budgie, and away from the distractions of other birds he'll focus on you and start to learn to talk if he's very receptive. My guy talked so much because he was so affectionate he was alway son my shoulder, and so he learnt quickly. :-)

  • i just got a budgie and he's so cute and once he isn't scared to go on my finger i will try to post a video of him. But my little guy is so quiet lol! I really don't want him to be scared of me anymore but i am letting him be in his cage for 3 or 4 days so he gets used to the house and knows that we won't mean harm to him

  • @Bleuazulblue That sounds wise. :-) And he talks more as he learns to be comfortable and listens to his surroundings. The more noise that's around, the more he'll talk. :-)

  • Are you female? The bird sounds like imitating a woman =)

  • @LesFofifan Yep!!! I'm female. Hehe. I can't hear the female aspect to his voice, but since he learnt most of what he said off me, that's no surprise. :-)

  • I find it amazing how these little birds have the same talking ability of as the king of parrot talkers, the African Grey. It's true, you can look it up. In fact, a budgie holds the world record for most words spoken by any parrot.

  • @fenderboy211 Oh, I didn't know that! That's fascinating to know! I'll post that when I get the odd comment saying they believe Erwin's speaking is fake. LOL. I take it as a compliment anyway they they believe my budgie's talking ability is that good it seems to good to be true. :-)

  • sound creepy just like the old man from Family Guy..... smh! -_-

  • he is very healthy,i can tell by his feathers and ofcourse from his voice!

  • @TheOvErSiZeDHaNdBoOk goo job knowing how to tell the sex :D most people think its the opisite :S

  • i luv how u can see his little chest moving wen he talks :D whis is so cute!

  • @K9girl29 Awwww, so do I! I STILL love seeing his videos! He was actually standing still in this video, which almost never happened, but allowed me to film him for so long, and so clearly. :-)

  • Cute <3

  • This is what my parakeet looks like!

  • awww, cute my friend had a budgie called boody, he was sooo cute. he sat on your finger and u even let him outside and he wouldn't fly off. He loved his little mirror, sat there allll day just looking at himself. Every one was so sad when he died...:(.

  • @aideenly My family were devastated when my Erwin died. Literally, everyone cried so much. He was such a gentle sweet boy who wormed his way into our hearts. I still miss him. :-(

  • thats cute but.....

you should really try to get that voice in a horror movie or something, cause that voice is just creepy when you really think about it!!!

  • @diatras LOL

  • How do you get parakeets to talk? I have 10 parakeets and none of them seem to talk, they only chirp.

  • @Kien8486 wats the color of there ceres?

  • @K9girl29 Boys: Blue/purple, Girls: brown/white

  • @Kien8486 That's your problem right there. :-) It's best to have only ONE MALE budgie, and then interact one-on-one with them, so that they learn to talk off you and not learn chirps from the other budgies. :-) It helped that my budgie was VERY affectionate, so he was more predisposed to interact with me, and he loves spending time with me. My second male budgie (after Erwin passed away) was not affectionate at all, so I ended up buying him a girlfriend so he wouldn't be lonely. :-)

  • is he really talking???

  • @ericaluver247 Yes, he was really talking. :-) He was an exceptional talker. They say that budgies hold the record in the parrot word for learning the most words.

  • good look my bird

  • how do you get these birds to talk like that?

  • @sarah9884 Buy one boy, and keep him separate from all other budgies, and then see if he bonds with you. Erwin was incredibly affectionate for a bird, and loved being with me, sitting on my shoulder and such, so he learnt very early to talk, and then he just kept learning. I would talk to him like he understood me, and then he would pick up what I was saying, and he could even hold a conversation with me. :-)

  • Wow What a Beautiful Budgie its little yellow face! Very clever aswell

  • That is freaky :(
