  • You should have posted it with photos of burlesque girls.

  • I was raised on Spike Jones. My Dad would play this song at ROCK volume and Mom would lovinly holler at him and say "Dad, what will the neighbors think?" Great childhood memories. Thanks for posting!

  • The best version of this song is done by Johnny Mercer

  • where can i get this song? im a burlesque performer and would love to use it for an act of mine xx

  • xXDarkteaserXx,

    Thank you for your comment.:)

I have sent you some information via your profile channel...I hope it is of help to you.

    Best wishes.:)

  • @xXDarkteaserXx It's easy to get this song. Look through your cache.

In older Windows versions the file starts with get_video, In current versions it starts with 'videoplayback'. If it has a filetype, keep it. Otherwise give it a .flv filetype. Now you have video. There are programs that can ... strip .... the audio from the video. Get one.

  • Before I read your synopsis, I got a little of Marylin Monroe with a higher pitch....I like this, sounds a little burlesque :)

  • angerredfire,

You got it in one! ...It was in Burlesque Theatres that strippers first made an appearence outside of private clubs...They didn't call them the 'Roaring Twenties' for nothing. lol

  • Wacky stuff. 5*****

  • Thank you for your comment and the rating. :)

  • youre very welcome! I love this fun stuff.

Old classics. All the best to you and yours in the new year too! Peace. And thanks for posting. =)

  • Molassis Icky Sticky Goo is a good one on YT. I got a lot of SJ&HCS on MP3, got a nice disk on ebay (back when ebay was an OK place to deal before their stupid changes this year). I also love the one about the little bunnies.

  • Indeed, everyone knows his "Cocktails For Two" and "I Went To Your Wedding", but there are some wonderful, lesser-known tracks, such as a version of "Mairzy Doats", "The Hut Sut Song" and "Spooky, Spooky, Lend Me Your Tomb" which I used to have on an LP in the 60s, and was never able to replace. Maybe you will dig out some more?

  • Hi GrannySea,

I have 26 records of Spike Jones in my collection but sadly none of the ones you have mentioned:(

However, I will be adding more of Spike to my collection in the near future...

    Best wishes

  • This is brilliant, been looking for this for over 40 years....

    Thanks for posting

  • Hi GrannySea,

I'm happy to have resolved your search. :)

This is my favourite Spike Jones record and a tribute to the late Gloria Wood.
