Can you do an update on your brushes? How good are Bobbi Brown brushes compared to MAC brushes? Everyone seems to prefer MAC brushes over any other makeup company and I wonder if it is because they are superior to the other brushes that are offered by other makeup companies.
@missqueenbean Miss queen bean, i am leaving this comment up here. Your purpose is to give people a laugh, I assume. You have done just that. :) Funny!
have bought the 24 piece set off ebay, It says 'Bobbi Brown' on each brush and on the case, and although I know it is fake, the brushes are really good! for so cheap, it's worth it if you can't afford the real thing..i'm really impressed..only thing is, the face brushes arent very soft and so they're not as nice as the real thing. The eyeshadow and liner brushes are amazing though!!
Just FYI, not all Bobbi Brown brushes have that embossed code. I bought one yesterday (shorter sized bronzer brush) that doesn't. It is a real Bobbi Brown brush. I bought it at a Bobbi Brown makeup counter, so I'm sure it's not a fake. It could be that they only put that code on certain sets, or maybe I just happened to get one that for whatever reason didn't get it stamped on there.
hang on what does fake actually mean? they are all made in china in a factory - the case is made in a different factory, so you could still have real ones in a fake case!
@pollysobreperez "fake" meaning not made for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. A lot of times, the "fake" brushes use different/synthetic bristles. They also use cheaper glues that hold the bristles in the farrel of the brush (the metal part). Although you may get a good brush set that isn't truly Bobbi's, it won't be as good or typically last as long. Hope that helps.
99 percent of bb brushes offered on ebay are fake. BB never made a set that big, I bought some on ebay for like 20 dllrs with the bag and found out they were all fake. They are not bad brushes and some are actually really good but they are not real. One big giveaway is if they come with the brush roll according to the lady at a bb counter. Oh well, lesson learned.
i have the volume on high and I can hardly hear u and whats the gurgling sound? Too bad, I really wanted to see this review but the sound is horrible, or lack of sound.
Hey really like this video, Im thinking of buying the cool Face brush u showed here and I was just wondering if u would consider doing a review for that brush as I would love to have more deatil on it and see the pouch u talked about!! Please reply if possible!!,
@edlebedleb so sorry I am now just seeing this message! The face brush is great. Let me know if you got it or not. I can make another vid for you. thanks for your interest :)
Have your tried Bobbi Brown Brush Cleaning Spray and/or their brush cleanser (black tube)? Can you do a comparison with using baby shampoo? also with mac brush pink bottle?
@ilovekpop906 this is such a late response to you- sorry! I love BB's black tube cleanser. I can't say that I have used the spray by BB or MAC, so can't compare. Sorry I am not of help in that respect. Baby shampoo is fine, and I also like Clinique's brush cleaner spray. Whatever you use, make sure you let your brushes dry laying flat. :)
Hi i just bought 24 large bobbi brown brushes off ebay and when i got them saw they were different to english ones as they are all brown and dont have which brush is which on the back. I asked the person i bought them off about it and they said they were real but china bobbi brown brushes may look different. I was wondering if this is true? thanks.

OMG....I went to the Bobbi Brown Counter today and the MA applied the pressed powder with powder brush and it was heavenly....Softer than M.A.C to me! I am a Bobbi Brown Broad!
cos i've bought a set recently for a really really cheap price (including 18 brushes)!!i was wondering they were fake at first because it was super cheap!but then i got confirmed by the sales who work at a local bobbi brown store.they asked me where did i get it lol
Hi! If your bobbi brown artist said they were real, I would say you've probably got the true stuff! :) I accumulated mine while working for Bobbi, so I couldn't tell you how much the entire set I have would be, but you can always check her website. She sells them as brush sets and you could compare the price on there. Way to go :)
thanks for the vid :) VERY helpful. But just wondering if it is possible for all the bristles in a bobbi brown brush set to be brown ? none of them are white, not even the face blender...thanks in advanced !! :)
I think your hunch is right: the face blender should definitely be white bristles. The eye liner brush should have golden yellow bristles, and the old touch-up brush should have white bristles. Also, the foundation brush bristles should have darker bristles at the base and fade up to light bristles. Thanks for the comment :)
I am going to do a video on this very subject soon. It is very hard to tell fakes from the real. I would try to look at the handles- are they consistent in color? Is the metal feral (the part that holds the bristles) black? What is the length of the handles? (bobbi only has two different lengths of brushes: professional length/long and travel length/short). Please let me know if you have more questions and good luck!
Great Video! I have a question: I got a Bobbi Brown brush set for my birthday today (from e-bay) and I am excited about it but the thing is, that I am not sure if they are real. They look pretty real at first but then I saw some cosmetic flaws, like the metal looks brassy (spots) on some of the brushes, etc. But what really irritates me is that most of them already lost more than one hair and I got them today. Is that normal for when you first get them? Please help:-) THANK YOU!!
Sure! Some of her brushes do shed just a bit, but they shouldn't be dropping bristles all of the time- that's no good. I am worried about the metal description you shared. . . send me pics, ok? Which brushes don't feel as soft? The white-haired bristled brushes (face brush,touch-up brush) are a different type of hair, so they will feel a bit courser in texture- that's normal. Make sure you gently wash them before you use them, & lay them flat to dry overnight. :)
@sabogl01 Losing some hair at first is normal. But If I was you i would take them into the counter and compare. Most likely they are not real. Sorry :(
You are so sweet! Great video! I have a question about the kabuki brush, did you experience lots of hairs falling out? especially when first used? Kiss :*
Very informative, really enjoyed your presentation. Brushes looked a little dusty on screen though and sound wasn't the best. Well done anyway, will continue to watch your videos in future. Thanks again. xxx
Very helpful video! Bobbi Brown is my favorite makeup line, and her brushes are to die for! I have an eyeshadow brush that is at least 8 years old, and has never shed a single hair!
Also, I like your nail polish a lot. Do you recall what shade you are wearing here? Thanks!
I just got as a gift a brush set. I'm wondering though if they are real because some of the the name Bobbi Brown for my brushes are already smudging after one week! I did take the one eyeliner brush to a Bobbi Brown makeup artist, and she said that it was real. So, I'm unsure.
oh, I am so sorry! that is horrible. if you plan on buying brushes again from ebay, have your boyfriend give me the name of the seller, and I can check them out first before you put down more money for a new set. Let me know what happens :)
is there a way that you can post a picture for me of your brushes? What did the brushes come in? If you got an entire set, they should come in some kind of brush holder. Hmmm, if I can see them, I should be able to tell. But how exciting-a new Bobbi brush set! yeah!
I asked my boyfriend and he got it from ebay. Strange story....It was stolen from my luggage two days ago! I'm considering get another one, but I wanted to be sure that they were real. I know that it would have eventually smudge off, but not so fast!!! Thanks for responding so fast! I really enjoyed your video.
