easy easy...i agree with you...im just saying not all house today is shit...most of it is-i agree with you...but try listening to fx felguk or spencer and hill...theyve got some fat kicks/beats as well...:)
@happystudio1 hmmm... i disagree also... if you have ears and common sense you'll hear the huge difference between this music and now days house. The old house was more close to hip-hop and even rock. After 1990 it all changed... those so called DJ's started using those boring as hell kick drum loops, songs became endless and of course, you needed drugs to listen to that. You can take your house, this is my house.
i lived in rio de janeiro at the time..... great memories--- went off to new york once again after that. great tune....bass at its best... burst them speakers :-)
The 90s was mad.Nice promotion of the smily face ecstacy pills the military and secret service created "admittidly" now.Time to wake up people cause this worlds now coming down and the fantasy people have been living under for years.Anybody got anything to lie about it ??
Wicked song - nearly as good as the scientist or stakker humanoid. One thing though - never could stand all the smiley face associations. Just plain cheesey!
I was a mere 15 when this came out, and from that point on I was a dance music fanatic, while everyone else listened to U2!

And I've been a dance/electronica listener ever since.
We really were privy to the birth of a new music genre, lucky luck us!
haHAhHAHAH . all these people bitching about what is obviously a stage show and not the people producing and mixing and scratching the music . this music being made and presented is by dj's using the turntables as instruments while the physically manipulate it with there hands . depr derp derp . sure it'd be cooler if they didn't have them up there with guitars and the fact that do have em is poking fun at people that don't understand what there are doing or how there music is made .
Four people playing guitars and keyboards, producing only an electronic bassline and beat. Singer standing well clear of the microphone. All just a bad joke best forgotten I think!
Great track, still got a mint 12" of it somewhere, but I hate these cheesey videos of people pretending to play guitars etc when the track is obviously just samples put together
@PAULLONDEN Yes this look ridiculous, but there are few points to clear out...Tim Simenon, the guy who produced the track and choose all the samples seems not to worry about the bottleblonde afros dancing with instruments they couldn't play...it was just a performance to the masses...musicians like me or maybe you can be shocked by it but normal average people don't give a damn about it.It was 1988,the summer of love in the UK,everybody doing tracks in bedrooms with a thrill to release them out
@AndreVlaamsValle Get your point, don't get me wrong ,I like what Bomb the Bass were doing, especialy when The Amiga "Xenon" video game ,was soundtracked by them.It might've been the 8T's,but it wouldn't have hurt them to aim for a little credibility, there were enough acts from that period that survived, without kowtowing to the masses.Still..compared to the acts we are forcefed today, thisis fucking HOLY,and remains a cool track anyway.
Being heavily into "Japan" I really hated this and the whole London 1989 scene at the time and couldn't wait to leave, though ironically Simenon heavily sampled Japan's "ghosts" on the follow-up to this!
Fuckin' great tune! I remember seeing this on the tele as a kid and I was totally blown away, I couldn't stop listening to it - it was the first record I bought. This was the tune that got me into music in a big way - hip hop, acid, techno - then years later jungle, dnb, grime and dub step. I still love it!
@webm8music I'm with you mate. Me too. I was 11 years old at the time.. Classic tune. Not sure my hairstyle at the time was a classic though :) Happy days..
