@elitist100 there is no one culture universal to all african people so your question is invalid in its formation. but to answer the essence of what you ask i live by that which is respectful and relevant to my afro-native american/ portuguese heritage as well as that of my han chinese wife. my kids know well who they really are, not what society tells them.

@elitist100 one of my sons is a marine corp sniper, the other is a studying marine biology in japan and my oldest daughter is studying law...my youngest daughter is still in high school....what others (like you) think of them is merely opinion what they think of themselves is fact.as for pride, it's reflected in every thing i do no matter how minute. i live it as do my kids.

In reality, you aren't really proud to be black, i.e. African, you'd rather prefer to be White. So you state you're proud just not to admit that you'd rather be White.

But if you look at africans in Africa, I don't see them work hard. When I talk about blacks, I talk about africans in Africa, because that are true Africans. Not wannabe proud africans like you.

@elitist100 a small number of notable successes does not make all people in that society party to the society's success. also if you studied economics you would've known that africa has been growing consistently for nearly 2 decades and that the conditions which immediately preceded the asian boom in the 80's are falling into place in many african nations as that growth accelerates. africa is after all the world's commodity resource

@elitist100 the conditions which preceeded the asian boom...a young increasingly educated and ambitious workforce, rapidly developing infrastructure, economic outreach and developing business ties internationally, aggressive market moves couples with a rapidly emerging middle class/ property class are setting the stage for massive future economic expansion...remember this is a marketplace of over 2 billion that is largely untapped
