hey guys im a freerunner + tree climber in guildford too. Give me an e-mail if you want to train. Theres a video on youtube of me running up a tree and grabbing a branch 11.5 ft of the ground. I'll show you if you want. E-mail me if you want to train together(sid6554@gmail.com). Great job guys.
timmulholland your a twat you cant train rong and the only reason people fuck up doing things is when they go past there boundry when they try things they know they cant sdo but theyl give it a go anyway i train with charlie and hes very good at parkour when you can show me for sure that you can train rong then il be pleased but for now il say bye :D
You can train when it's wet, not everything has to be similar to "a big gap to a handrail" you can train most things as though it were dry with little risk of hazard, just avoid metal. Even if it properly pisses down you can still condition whatever the weather. Also you misspelt practical, and Tim, I love the name-dropping LOOOOL. x
Dampness has very different effects to different surfaces and no matter how good you are there is a tremendous risk of slipping, mostly on landing.
That could seriously damage you if its serious Parkour you are doing (i.e. actually pushing the boundaries). Do you understand what I'm getting at now?
to beginning with doing a precision in the dry may be hard with risk of falling but then you learn to control and build up, would the same apply to wetness. and for truly practical use do you not think it should be in any conditions?peace
im not trying to argue, i hate all that petty stuff.
but i just think that what you said about training in the rain and not being able to do big gaps was not correct. training in the rain is excellent for mental strength and control.
okay mate thats all, no arguments, not in parkour our community does not need the pettyness :) x
Hey kid, calm down and listen up. You are an amateur. I am not.
Of course you can train in the wet. But that training is going to be so limited that you would be better off saving energy for when it dries up.
You cannot train "wrong" in Parkour... But to progress you want to be pushing boundaries. Doing so when its wet will cause bad falls because surfaces become unpredictable and randomly slippery.
Would you like 2 try a sizeable gap 2 a hand rail when its wet? I would love to film it!
Woh, who are are you to talk to ME about training "wrong"? Easy tiger!
I've had a closer look at your vids and it seems that basically your Parkour training involves making sequences of various very low obstacles. Granted, if you were to train that sort of stuff in the wet and you slipped then you wouldn't get hurt too badly.
But if you want to talk about doing proper, practicle Parkour in the wet well... that's different. David Belle himself wouldn't fancy doing a serious gap to a high rail

parkour is not about doing 'BIG GAPS' at all, its aout learning to train your body to overcome anything that comes your way! no matter what the weather is. if you have had five years experiance then you eould know that is not just doing big gaps a all. training in the rain is one of the best ways to learn control and to strengthen the mental state you have when you are doing parkour. if you have has so mcuh experiance then you should feel comfortable enough to train in the wet

would consider the wet a boundary to push?

You can... but its pretty pants. It completely shuts off any chance of doing big gaps to rails etc. and makes everything else dodgy as well.
I know from 5 years of experience buddy.
