I'm not too familiar with these pedals so this may be a stupid question but can you use these like regular distortion pedals? Guitar through the input and cable from output to amp?
so far, what pedal would you recommend for mesa type metal tone? I'm looking for a new metal pedal, I don't have the cash to invest on the real amp so I'm looking for alternatives.
@SingleCoilVoodoo Thanks! M-Audio's ProFire 610 has been the interface for the last year or so. Does the job. Sometimes I'll add a bit of comp in Logic to keep it all under control, but that's it really. Cheers.
@VKzGibson Yeah, it's in the same ballpark, I guess. Although this does concentrate on the recto sound and isn't as friendly with the standard input on an amp as the HardWire might be. The AMT Legend Amp stuff is more focused on being used in a pre-amp configuration. And it does that very well. Thanks for watching.
I'm going to record some songs via Van Halen's "Fair Warning" era. I want to record the guitar direct (using a cab sim) in my apartment.
First, do these pedals really and honestly sound like this direct? because your demo is awsome. And both your R1 and S1 demos sound amazing. Which one gets that "Unchained" growl and bite without getting muddy? or which pedal would you use. Awsome playing by the way.
@tholt000 Hey, thanks for the kind words. I'd probably use the P1 (5150) or S1 (Soldano) for that sound. They're both close but the Soldano has a tighter bottom end and slightly different mids. Study the clips closely once again before you make your choice. And yes, they really do sound like that. :)
I wonder if Andrew Barta is a fan of these:)
Sorry, just could not resist comparing. Do you think it's similar value with Tech21 stuff? That would save some money. Cheers for superb reviews!

does this pedals sound close to the Digitech Hardwire Metal Distortion?

Would it work good if i were to just plug it into a tech 21 power engine or something or i need a amp
StokedDom101 1 year ago
@StokedDom101 Yeah, the Power Engine would be a great unit for it. An amp isn't bad either as long as you use its effects loop. :)
Burgerman666 1 year ago
Do These honestly feel like a preamp like if it was that amp or like a Line6 preamp where it feels fake and Digital
StokedDom101 1 year ago
hey great reviews. For a petrucci-esque sound, mark4, what do you reccomend, the rectifier or the S1?
