i like your net idea but some nets are stronger then others. I work as a produce clerk and see a ton of these. FYI do not use the onion ones bc they DO break easy but some are strong like the avacado ones. all and all (thumbs up)
I like the net idea...it could also be used in a survival situation as a snare/fish trap...the Muscle Milk can could be use to use as a rodent/bear canister ... good stuff bro..
Campmor would take this idea, stick a BIG "Made in America" label, put it in fancy packaging and charge $20 for each one. This is how Platypus was born, nothing more then disposable wine bags. At least the wine bags had UV protection.
Be sure to wash those mesh bags in the washing machine before you drag them into bear country. They'll come for the jalapeno and oyster odor and stay for the lip balm. Also, they're not water-resistant like a plastic baggie.
you said you work in a restaurant, if you swipe a couple of the 50 pound onion sacs made of that plastic netting you can cut it to the sizes you need much easier the trying to get the ones from every small thing there.

i believe nothing this guy says simply because he has muscle milk in his kitchen. Comon man get some real nutrition. U wanna be lean, u gotta be clean . muscle milk is the worst product ever invented
@beast12101 comon I was messing wit you. You really think I wouldent use a good idea just because I saw muscle milk? Still that muscle milk is like the worst product ever invented. Good vid .
Really top idea with the mesh bags, I'm borderline OCD when it comes to organising my pack.
I've noticed that those across the pond are much more hardcore on the lightweight then us Brits, is it because we are just to sissified here?
Seriously on your ultra light trips what's the weather you face, is it as unrelentingly rain dominated as our climate, because it's the risk of hypothermia that ends up trashing many of my lightweight ideals.
I ask out of curiosity. I think an issue with going light here is that the 'wild' bits of the UK are less 'wild' and tend to be open mountain/hillside and moorland so fires are either impractical, no fuel or dangerous/illegal, the peat underfoot burns.
Still I think a lot of it is habit, most Brits think ultralight would mean leaving out the bottle of wine.
@Rambleale being ultralight, is more of a mindset , you find ways of doing things without of the right stuff. Not so different than the bushcrafting groups. a lot of ultralight hikers wont bring a heavy jacket, while hiking keeps you warm and moving, if you get cold when you stop, simply get in your sleeping bag.
I think I get that, I have been moving in that direction when out solo. I'm defiantly getting the ultra light bug. My last solo trip I did leave the tent behind and used a very light bivi bag, a bit of discomfort is more than balanced by the extra distance you can cover. The bushcraft thing is hard in the UK as all the woodland and forest tends to be privately owned with access issues. I'm also lucky that I run hot so I can normally go a sleeping bag 'season' less than many.
"let me put my hand in to see how big it gets" thats what im talking about! lol. but in all seriousness, i would recommend putting these sacs in the dishwasher to get rid of any funk that might be on them, especially the oyster ones.
Mesh fruit bags are great for hanging up wet stuff to dry - dishes, tea bags, etc. Microwave dish? Not sure what to do with that - I eat out of the pan I cook in... and I'm not sure those are durable enough to last even a short trip.
Everything becomes a possible stove. Ive got that Syndrome now. I was looking at a glass jar that had hotdogs in and i was thinking that i must be abel to make something out of it, but no, glass is no good for anything. Dammit
papermart*com sells mesh bags online or will-call (save$ @ will-call).

@Rambleale it rains all the time here, something as simple as a AMK bivvy can keep you warm, and having the skills of making fire is most important

Another great use for those thicker mesh bags... Wad one up, and use it as a pot scrubber.

great idea, they would probably clean potatos pretty good too
