Jimmy is fantastic! Unlike his late brother he doesn't use a pick! This changes his sound, it is more melodic! A tiny bit slower and softer, not quite as dramatic but every bit as effective! Long live Jimmy Vaughan!! Joey Vaughan "World Blues Attack"
Music for grown-ups. Guitar for afficionados. Let's leave the snobbery outside, shall we. Some of the best bluesmen couldn't even spell their own names. There's no place for grammer in blues. There, now I'm sounding like a 5 year old!
Sorry, but the natural guitar flow from his great younger brother Stevie (rip) and even the voice .. we are talking from different categories here...Only the good dies young..!! Salute.
When jimmie plays johnny guitar watson style like this is he in standard tuning. I'm assuming he isn't but I can't find any information on what his tuning is-if anyone knows and could let me know I would appreciate it.
@MilesofColtrane Jimmie plays this (and pretty much everything else) in standard tuning. Nearly always with a capo so he can always play in "open E" shapes. Almost 100% pentatonic licks. My favourite blues player!
my ears are still ringing from the verbosity of that tirade , i will consider myself intelectually chastened you certainly know how to beat a man down with the shere logic and intensity of your argument
You should buy yourself a dictionary and book on grammar before attempting to deride someone else for their comments. At least the previous post was succinct and free from spelling errors. Remember art is always subjective - grammar is not.
Jimmie gets better with age! And yes for all you non believers, Jimmie vaughan can burn when he gets going! Hes a damn good guitar player and a great guy haveing met him several times. He is blues through and through! The king of cool
Check out Johnny 'GUITAR' Watsons BLUES albums. He only did 2 I think .. this is who Jimmie is hugely influenced by and this is a JGW song he is covering.
that's the place bubby holly last played surf ball room before he took the flight that killed him and 17 year ole guitar player ritchie valens and big bopper hey jimmy their is hurricane that it might or might not be going towards lil louisiana town one of them cajun mafia boss son plays like them so we can laugh at a you know who from his town hehehehee
Jimmie baby, indeed! When Jimmie was a kid, his uncle gave him a Chet Atkins book and told him-- 'Here. You'd better learn fingerstyle or you ain't gonna be no REAL blues player.' Interesting, eh? His fingerstyle eludes me-- as does Mark Knopfler's! I'm all thumbs! LOL. GO JIMMIE!!!
