She was only 8. Died of a twisted gut colic within 4 hours of when it started. Strange thing is, I heard her mother passed of the same thing 4 years ago, also at a young age.
I am ever so sorry, I have lost two horses (mums), one to really old age and the other had three uncurable deases. I am also kinda lucky because we almost put down my old mare who re-taught me to ride this year to Advanced Navicula but she is still kicking which is good. So so sorry.
few people are lucky enough to have the friendship you had with your horse, i know that when you close your eyes you can still feel his mounth in your hands, his stride between your legs and smell his sweet smell. One day his reins will slip through your hands, then his stride will pull from underneith you and last his smell will be gone. im very sorry i know what its like to lose your best friend. i lostmy horse to colic and my heart was broken im truely sorry for your loss. Gessabelle was my baby. it was sad whenshe died when hey let her out in the paddock and she was eating grass when they gave her the shot and she fell to her knees after the vet gave her the shot and she kept eating when she was onher knees like she knew...and to this day i belive i saw a light and my gessabelle get her wings when her angel came an got her
