This song speaks so much to me and my current circumstances right now. It sounds like he's using "plato's cave" as an allegory for the lonely place you get stuck in with something like alcoholism (hence the Oddysey reference [the siren's = whatever thing brought you so low, trying to call you back, but you refuse to hear it calling to you anymore]). Also reminds me of what Johnny Cash did when he lived in a cave. It's scary how close this song is to my current situation. Starting over.
