Find a speaker, glue a cone to it like the one in the video(I used a speaker port from the sub woofer I got the speaker out of). Bolt the ready rod thru the cone and attach the metal plate to it with a nut.
Hook your computer up to a stereo receiver.Hook the speaker to your stereo.
Download a "tone generator" software from the internet. Play a tone through the speaker and slowly turn up the volume. We used salt on the metal plate to create the patterns, and used cornstarch and water to make the gooey stuff.
It took a while to find the correct sound frequency that would work but it was worth it.
Is this science fair project dry ice?

You need a couple things in order to do this:
1. stereo receiver
2. computer
3. speaker (6" preferred)
4. tone generator software
5. metal plate (I used a serving tray)
6. cone standoff
7. threaded rod
