I wonder how the new Uniden's will fair in the -20F late winter temps? Seems for me, I have a Midland and a Maxon both w/the electronic type displays that don't function when frozen. (Maybe bad solder, I can't find it) do you have a suggestion??? My old Cobra's and old style Uniden don't mind the deep freeze and work fine.
@mrgoodvibrations You are 100% right on the displays.. at-20 they will be dim or not work at all. LCD's can freeze too.. Stick with plain LED displays and you will be fine.
@FelixTheHouseFreak I know but that is what they are all going to be. Most of the through hole parts are being dropped by manufactures and everything is going to smt and worse lead free solder. (ROHS)

Uniden has a new SSB rig in the planning stages as well but from the pics ive seen it will NOT have a clarifier!!!!!! LOL

@TheZeke1974 heard thru the grape vine uniden cancelled production on the SSB model.
the pic of the radio is just a quick rough drawing hence the no clarifier.
