Competitive RTS is ridiculous. Completely ruins the spirit of the game when you rush. RTSs are supposed to be about building up and playing a long strategic game. Whenever I play with friends, we put in a one hour build-up time, sometimes 2 hours.  Then it's fun.

You need a certain level of understanding of the game, which is gained through tons of learning and training. Don't forget the keyboards with it's many keys.
