  • if i had a dollar for every pixel in this video

    ...i would have 1 dollar.

  • Maybe now that the video is blurry, girls will stop going on about how hot he is, and us fellas can appreciate his musical talent for once.

    Fucking awesome guitar work.

  • i looove his hair like that

  • sos un genio loco!

  • I don't know if this is supposed to be original...

but it sounds exactly like BB King - Lucille

  • @housephly87 to fire on all cylinders (like he always does live) perfectly, but do it in a way that no matter how soft or wild the next song was to be, it would be strong enough to separate itself from the song played just before it. Even though all the songs are during one night & one pcerformance by the same artist, they are performed in a way that keeps it as fresh and original and as Live as the vibe the opening tune had. Very few artists/bands can play at that level live, JM being one of t

  • @housephly87 It could damn well very be best version you've "Heard," but definitely not "Seen." Haha we all know this is the bunks as far as visual quality goes. 240p likes to show it's face every once in awhile now; cause in a 720/1080p world, 240 just wants to remind us where our roots are at hah! Anyway, this is a baller-ass performance of OOMM but the WTLI take still is my top pick; his legatto work in that performance is just brilliant! Not to mention the circumstances of that show; he had

  • i'm in love with this song!

  • This is quality but it looks like someone smeared the camera lens with Vasolene!

  • He never plays it the same twice... Yet soulfully and perfectly executed every time. Undeniably a gifted musician... Period!

  • Best version I ever heard

  • 85 are completly out of their minds!

  • yeah great tone and sound - love JM - Got into Wolf Mail and Joe Bonamassa lately , the world is a better place

  • This bassline is so confusing lol.

  • That man have gotten to ejaculate in some hot woman!

  • im 18 years old. and it has nothing to do with why i like john mayer or respect and enjoy blues so shut the fuck up no one cares how old you are unless your a molester.

  • im 15 years old, my peers all like listening to pop, hip hop and all those way to heavy bassed music.. all i know is that i love john mayer playing like this, and the amazing band, the john mayer trio.. wow, i hope to see them in concert once. thank you John Clayton Mayer, Pino Palladino and Steve Jordan for this amazing music!

  • Wow....I didn't know he could play guitar...fucking music corps.

  • god damn. this is good shit

  • Great tone. Nicely scooped and hot, yet smooth.

  • Hey folks, if you like John and/or the Trio, please give my original tunes a listen. My page could use the visitors and I could use your feedback. Thanks so much! Ryan

  • I saw this video before. :)

  • I do not know this entertainer. :)

  • I'm pretty impressed by John's Hendrix Strat copy , Looks badass

  • which pixel is john?

  • @bonesmaan i dont know but there is only five pixels so it should not be that hard to find him

  • Do they sell a Strat like the one John is using?

  • @mixpebz Fender made a limited few of them, they were retailing at around 13,000USD last time I saw. If you want to look it up, it's the Jimi Hendrix Monterey Strat.

  • @timiexperience 13,000? well that's definitely out of my price range -.- thanks though, i guess ill just look it up so i can drool

  • @mixpebz Try picking up one of the Black1's released earlier in the year. They made 500 of the non reliced ones, if you want Mayer's tone it's a nice way to get it. I was lucky enough to get one, you wouldn't be disappointed.

  • videos aweful, audio's great

  • yeah

  • This is super!! He is one of the finest guitarist but he doesnt always plays like this (but that is my taste)! In heart he is a real blues man!!

  • So, the question is, when ya comin' back, John? When will the coast be clear, and I'm not talkin' about the imminent Irene. Or maybe I am. Will the hurricane wash it out of you? Is it time?

  • So, the question is, when ya comin' back, John? When will the coast be clear, and I'm not talkin' about the imminent Irene. Or maybe I am. Will the hurricane wash it out of you? Is it time?

  • gahhh i miss the trio and i wasnt even there to be reppin when they were still together.

  • Just his Johnness is amazing in 240p!

  • 04:04 excuse me for a second

  • I was recently introduced to the blues and this is just lovely! This.is the kind of music that feeds the soul.

  • I just had an orgasm!! This is the music i want more of!!

  • very good sound:)

  • guitar-gasm

  • This performance is so mentally orgasmic, I have to go take a nap after in sweet afterglow -- every time!

  • Around 3:05 is about the most gorgeous tone I've ever heard coming from a guitar. It's butter! Guitar Experts -- is that just the type of guitar, pickups, chords? Educate.

  • @ActionAimz Combination of all of those, and his awesome playing

  • Hi ! I am an 18 year old musician and I made a cover of John Mayer's I'm Gonna Find Another You. Now I don't usually promote myself here that much but hey the mood strikes me now and since my first album is on its way I thought it would be a proper thing to do haha :D Anyways you can find the cover on my channel, so go check it out and I hope you enjoy ! - Tomi Saario

  • shades of Jimi

  • Was this Recorded with A potato?

  • @bobybobybobb123 no with a calculator... dont you see the top comment?

  • SUPER GÉNIAL , J'ADORE. vive john Mayer !!!

  • Incredible musicianship, can't get enough. JM's solo is mind-blowing.

  • finally, two quality top-rated comments. pretty damn refreshing.

  • who's on bass?

  • @streetzac Pino Palladino

  • @jeremychuayx Oh god. Your comment made me laugh soooo hard, you have no idea.

  • What kind of pedal does he engage at 5:34? It's not just a wah is it?

  • @yamahauler125 You are correct good sir, as far as I can tell. He just doesn't have a wide frequency sweep set, so it doesn't sound as "Wah" like as most. That's my best guess.

  • @gitahjunkie could it be like an auto wah ?

  • @gratefulmule It could be, but it looks like he is rocking back and forth on a pedal from like 5:56 to 6:00 and then immediately afterwards you can see he is standing with his right leg forward and bent a little bit. It looks to me like he is just using a standard wah that he is controlling, although for the first bit of the solo it is hard to tell and it never really shows him for sure using a wah or not, so it is hard to tell.

  • i keep trying to jam to this, but this Mayer dude keeps showing me up.

  • Guys, don't hate, appreciate! Haha I know it's corny as hell. The video quality really is garbage, comparable to that of the original GameBoy; but at least we still have this performance in some feasible form! That's where we appreciate hah! :)

  • Its a good job that the song is awesome, because i have seen homemade porn with better video quality

  • wow, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray fan here. I've liked some of John Mayer's song but wasn't ever a huge fan. I didn't realize he had this blues side to him until I found these videos. When I saw his name looking up blues songs I thought lol at first... but I'm very impressed. Nice playing, awesome ass blues voice that I can't believe I couldn't hear it in his non-bluesy songs.

  • @FenixofWow I hope you have seen the live in la version of this, because that one is about 60trillion times as good as this one is. And that is saying alot. It would be my go to drug if I'd get an erectile disfunction later in life.

  • @FenixofWow Yess! What @esdenaze said! If you haven't already, you need to watch the Out of My Mind performance from Where The Light Is DVD. Check the links I'm sending you -

/watch?v=GQkO3SGB3So Out of my Mind (live, this is the video I particularly want you to see + JM/BB vid, the rest are just (great) suggestions hah)

/watch?v=P0AdDtzVyWY John Mayer and B.B. King Jam at Guitar Center! part 1 of 2

/watch?v=-5imPpWkZo Everyday I Have the Blues

    /watch?v=TesSAq6uY34 Chicken Grease/Jam/Cissy Strut

  • @FenixofWow Welcome to the sweet world of Mayer Blues... He's incredible...he has an amazing instinctual sense of where to go with his timing, and phrasing...he's pretty damn good. Period. ;)

  • @FenixofWow He does have "SRV" tattooed on his arm too, SRV is amazing, I can definitely see his influence on Mayer :)

  • @FenixofWow "awesome ass blues"

What the fuck are "ass blues"?

  • @squiishyface dont be a dumbass

  • Comment removed

  • @FenixofWow this song is by eddie boyd! there a lot of versions of this song (like all old blues song) but that is the original (eddie boyd)...............

  • @FenixofWow I know that your comment is six month old and all but can I ask you something??were you living under a rock or somethin'?

john's been blowing people's minds with the blues side of his for years.I hope you've found out just how good he can be by now.

  • It's not really John Mayer, this is a Japanese porno and the band are a bunch of guitar playing tallywackers.

In any case they are incredibly talented guitar playing tallywackers...

  • complain what you want about the video quality, but i'm not here to see John mayer, i'm here to listen to john mayer, and i think this is an awesome tune

  • Man i need to get my guitar, just found some really interesting licks

  • he's playing out of his mind, out of this world good

  • I'm pretty sure that John is playing a Jimi Hendrix Fender Stratocaster. It's one of only 100 made in the world.

  • how cool is that bass?

  • not blues....angry Blues!

  • wonder....

  • Am I the only one that could put Mayer and SRV side by side and hear a HUGE difference? I mean I feel the influence but I dont think that there's a gigantic similarity.

  • Not saying this sucks, I'm just extremely underwhelmed.

  • Check out my cover of John Mayer! :-)

  • this version is awesome but for me where the light is version is outstanding.

  • 81 people are out of their minds

  • This man makes love to that guitar!

  • I agree with PO2KICKASS...We don't have SRV anymore. I think I have every great blues album ever and if anyone hasn't noticed they aren't exactly producing any these days that I can find anyways. I do prefer his stuff with the Trio, but I think a lot of his stuff is what he has to do to be financially successful. As far as ripping off SRV, if you play guitar have you not ever tried to learn Stevies licks? At least Mayer is a fan of him as much as a lot of us.

  • man i love that hendrix strat hes playing

  • Whats all the fuss about with him 'stealing' SRV's style? Heck Mayer started playing the guitar BECAUSE of Stevie, he's still awesome so STFU!

  • When learning blues guitar... stealing other people's stuff is not just unavoidable.. IT'S THE RULE! While filling up your bag of tricks with other people's licks and tones.. you find yourself somewhere in the middle. That's just how it goes... Don't hate. Mayer is an incredible talent on the guitar... and if you say otherwise.. you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

  • He's good but I think he tries to play too "correctly", and blues isn't about that! Maybe getting a bit dirty and out of the patterns would help.

  • @sebastian6736

Then listen to Out of My Mind live in L.A, it's much dirtier i think ;-)

  • What pedal effect is John using towards the end here? Also, is being a good blues soloist simply a matter of playing the pentatonic scales at really fast speed with melodic touches? I've always found that when I play the blues I don't often do very good solos and it might be because i'm not playing certain parts fast enough, because they can't be using any different notes right?

  • @cardinalfire999 Nah brother, I mean use the scale to start and keep using it but remember to leave the scale when it feels right. Never put yourself in a box(never put anyone else in a box either). Just be free about it, play around, and explore yourself.

  • I used to hate on John Mayer for sounding a little bit too much like Stevie, but.....I've totally changed my perspective. I think he's awesome and really should be praised for keeping the blues alive in this modern era. I grew up on SRV and would love to hear some new music by him, but ofcourse I can't do that. John Mayer is almost like hearing a brand new SRV album...no offense, but I think it's fucking awesome. There.

  • There*

  • It's pretty hard not to "rip off" someone's licks. ESPECIALLY!!!! in blues. If you're a blues player, you're doing something that's going to be very close to what someone before you has done or you going to sound like someone. They're are exceptions every once in a while but 99.5% of the time, that rule holds true. So dont hate on guys for "ripping off" other players. Its unavoidable.

  • man he's killin it

  • Oh baby I got the Blues...

  • It's very good

  • steve looks a little tired...

  • what shitty guitar! x) hendrix's?

  • live in LA version of this kicks so much ass

  • Simply awesome

  • was this video recorded with a calculator?

  • @jeremychuayx

LMAO! That was hilarious! A calculator! LOL!

  • @jeremychuayx Casio, how on earth did you guess :P

  • @jeremychuayx

    May 2006. You troll.

  • @jeremychuayx thats the funniest comment i'v seen on youtube .. ahaaaaa

  • @jeremychuayx LOL Awesome one dude!

  • man let me jus say this video qaulity is amazing when ur baked

  • Rofl this video quality makes it look like Pino Palidino is playing a guitar hero guitar

  • good music

  • this is my shit!

  • this is sick!!!!

  • PINO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Keeping that blues power alive!

  • He's the man, if you don't think so, try to burn him off at the Crossroads, lick for lick.Ha! you'll fry.

  • Comment removed

  • smooth...................!!!

  • 75 people were put out of John Mayer's mind

  • I think he copy Fredie king notes in this song

  • "excuse me for one second here" as I play an amazing quitar solo!! He's the man

  • i love how random the other 2 dudes look :D great music though, even if hes been a douche, hell he can yank that six-string to cry the way we all love

    peace out

  • Omgosh. Stop criticizing him! He's freakin amazing, and just bc it's a different style doesn't make it less.

  • A modern Stevie Ray...

  • Some times his voice reminds me of Stevie Ray but that's about it....

  • @carlohemi He has a much better voice than SRV

  • @carlohemi He has a much better voice than SRV, much more control

  • Yea he really isnt that good. There's no atmosphere in his blues and he's really not compensating for his tone

  • i guess you could call this music boring if you have ADD and cant pay attention lol. Well all do have different ears tho. For real i feel like im more focused tho with this stuff, like i needed to just sit back more offten and relax. yea jazzy bluesy cool all right cool cats yea dig it...wowzazzas

  • oh man!!! can i do thumps up twice..

  • 6:53-7:01 its just ridiculous how cool that is. F*ck he's good

  • The drummer looks bored out of his mind.

  • I don't really get why there are people calling him a douche cause he s doing this pop stuff now. I also liked his blues and guitar stuff more , especially TRY! but he really is an amazing musician . also really hope he starts focussing on his guitar music a little more, awesome song .

  • @IchHabGradMeineTage hey acts like a douche but he is fucking talented

  • stevie

  • Seeing people play Hendrix's Monterey replica bothers me. Jimi didn't get that beautiful guitar specially made and painted, then set it on fire, then smash it and throw it in the audience so it could get reproduced. Making his monterey strat completely misses the point.

  • @jdman331 ha, not when you have the ability to make money off it

  • @jdman331 couldn't have said it better myself....its all about the moment man!

  • @jdman331 First, its probably the most bitchin strat ever! Second, its a tribute to Jimi so I think that a tribute to Jimi is never a bad thing. But I get your point. I'm not sure Jimi was trying to make a huge point buring and smashing that guitar though...maybe he was just in the moment and that happened to be the guitar that got the 'ax' haha.

  • @jdman331

..he sacrified it and God gave us some clones of this guitar back, because he loves the one of Hendrix..but they `re so highpriced ;-) I hope that consoles you ;-)

  • I used to be a big blues fan when I started playing guitar, but my god how do people not get tired of the same boring pentatonic licks and chord progressions. White people playing the the blues is so boring , it used to be cool with like Robert Johnson and Leadbelly and other inventive guitar players but this is just boring. Same stupid lyrics too. Its cool sometimes but I think the blues are so overdone now a days.

  • @lugnaz987 then why'd you watch the video you idiot

  • Or maybe 74 people couldn't enjoy the video because it is shit quality...

  • @ztbsk8er What difference does the video's quality make? The sound is just fine, and that's really all that matters.

  • @SabbraCadabra Usually I watch videos on you tube because that's what youtubes's about, the videos. If I want to just hear music I go listen on itunes. But yeah you are right in that the sound is what matters when it comes to something like this, but I am just saying.

  • Looks like 74 people were expecting something other than real John Mayer...

Regardless, I absolutely love the sound they had going on! Maybe soon we can get more of this stuff.... tasteee

  • I feel like I'm falling in love all over again.

  • if ur names john

    your a mad guitar player

  • @alkiethebear hey thanks! :D

  • @alkiethebear My name is Dylan... Can I play guitar too? :'[ haha, just kidding

  • @alkiethebear Totally agree!!

All the johns i know are fucking amazing guitarrists!

  • awesome video quality!!

  • @kirbz01

Haha yeah, it puts HD to shame.

  • @kirbz01 hahahaha

  • @kirbz01 LOL

  • @kirbz01 hahaha

  • i want that guitar anyone know where i can get it

  • @HendrixofSound I think that is a Fender Hendrix Special Edition strat. They hired an artist to reproduce the painted strat that JH made and played in Monteray. About 200 were made. Check out the book Fender Guitar 50 years anniversery Also Yahoo Image Search Fender Hendrix Tribute Strat Monteray; Good luck, probably would cost a fortune

  • awesome.

  • i love john's guitar!! (and im scared of the bassist lol..)

  • gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamee

  • If his next album isn't all blues so help me god I will..... Still buy it and love it

  • Mr,Mayer can write all the fluff pop songs he wants if he would just put out another blues album once in a while. One of the finest players out there today---so much soul!

  • Hey you! You dont like John Mayer! But dont stop! Dont stop to see your songs on youtube!

  • no one rips off stevie ray vaughan like john mayer

  • @Asrulefool Dude, here's a clue......EVERY blues player out there today rips off Stevie to some extent. BTW Stevie ripped off Jimi Hendrix, and Albert,BB and Freddie King. We ALL rip each other off every day. It's putting your own little unique spins and twists on it that matter. If any musician playing today says they HAVEN'T been influenced by anyone, regardless of their instrument, theyre full of shit!

  • @17drumhead nice said

  • hey mannn

i dont like the words "ripped off"

I believe artists like stevie, jimi hendrix, Freddie king and soo on

have just INFLUENCED on john mayer music, and also most importantly in a sense just INSPIRED him to even be what he is today :)

  • @malulibasteve69 If you look at the liner notes in Continuum John thanks Eric Clapton for letting him steal (rip off) his licks.

  • @17drumhead well said. u sound like a musician urself. or at least like you've done ur homework
