The shotguns are great. In BC2 if you didn't 1 hit the guy you were screwed if he was any good. Now shottys are the same at super close range but you actually have a chance past 15ft.

This beta is a load of shit. It throws me prone when i shoot at an enemy and when I am prone I am forced to stand up. Also it randomly stops me sprinting and this glitch has probably accounted for 60% of my deaths. And sinking ground. UN-FUCKING-PLAYABLE

I am fine with the 870 getting the action slowed down, but no reduction of power. A 12 gauge in CQC should be 1 shot kills. With action slowed it will be balanced. In other words yes they get 1 shot kills at close range but, at the same time they are more vulnerable between those said shots.

Knife is perfect! This is a First Person Shooter not a First Person Slasher! If U R knifed it should be humiliating and BF3 makes it so. Regarding the nerfs I think all PDW are too good at range, CQB feels good with them but my God they are op at range. Shotis are not as op as in BC2. The bullet-drop and travel time is very noticeable so using slugs now needs more skill imo.

The 870 isn't really that bad but it could do with some extra recoil. The MK11 and SVD on the other hand are way to op and they should make them 3 shots to the body for the kill, otherwise bolt-action rifles are only a downgrade from the starting snipers.

If battlefield is really trying to go for realism they should leave the shotguns alone. But I do agree that they cause an imbalance in the game and should be modified.
I've had some good games but it's a lot harder to do well. I still have a big issue with the health. Apart from that it's quite good, not surpassed BC2 yet but it's early days.
I am loving the beta, but one some people, damn good BC2 players too, hate how the guns handle. To quote one of them, "I can't kill anything". He is a good player too, so i think the new gun feel might push some people away from the game because of the higher recoil and what not.

@bigMooney06 You seem to don't understand what an OP weapons is. Shotungs are only powerful indoors at close range. They're useless everywhere else. DMRs on the other than, the SVD and the Mk11, are just as powerful as assault rifles at close range, outclass nearly everything at medium range and totally rape the whole world at long ragne, that makes them OP.

All I'm saying about the 870 is, the shots are too fast, you pump the gun instantly and the rate of fire is almost as fast as a semi auto shotgun. The power of the 870 is fine and so is the range, just slow it down is all I'm saying.

How does the mini map work? Do enemies show up when they fire? Or only when they're spotted. If they don't show up when the fire, what's the point of silencers?

I leveled up the Engineer Kit only to get the EOD Bot. That thing is fun to use! Don't drive it around in 1st person, switch to 3rd person, its so much easier.
@TorzillaHD You can drive it up to the MCOM stations to arm or disarm the bombs. It also has a torch that you can use to burn people with. Most players don't know what the Hell it is, so you can drive it right up to them.
@TorzillaHD You unlock it at 72,000 Engineer Score. I only used the Engineer Class in the Beta so it didn't take very long. If you use multiple classes it will take you forever to unlock any of the high level Guns, Attachments, Equipment, etc... My 3 friends and I each chose 1 Kit to only use in the Beta so we could each unlock the most stuff per kit.
in my opinion they did the recon class beautifully in this game. the mobile spawn is incredibly useful and the scope glare is a great idea to offset the proning mechanic. i dont like that whenever my teammate faces me with a light i can't see shit.
Bigmooney, saying that the final game will be nothing like the beta is simply not true. You can expect the same only without the bugs/glitches/crashes. They cant change the whole game, they only have 3 something weeks.
Ive never played a MP that was very different from the beta of that game, just some minor changes.

Mooney are you having any problems with staying in a squad with friends? Because, when I get in a squad with my friends at the main menu I can hear them... But, when we get put into in a game we are in diiferent squads, and on the odd chance we are on different teams. Will DICE fix this? Or is it just me having this problem? :3
IR Scope has no magnification. I find that quite balanced for snipers.

@bigMooney06 You seem to don't understand what an OP weapons is. Shotungs are only powerful indoors at close range. They're useless everywhere else. DMRs on the other than, the SVD and the Mk11, are just as powerful as assault rifles at close range, outclass nearly everything at medium range and totally rape the whole world at long ragne, that makes them OP.

All I'm saying about the 870 is, the shots are too fast, you pump the gun instantly and the rate of fire is almost as fast as a semi auto shotgun. The power of the 870 is fine and so is the range, just slow it down is all I'm saying.

The full release will not be like this. Did anyone play the Red Orchestra 2 beta? It was much, much worse than this, and 2 weeks later, the full release was FINE. Almost everything was fixed, and a lot of people felt stupid for cancelling their pre-orders.

@omgqwerty082 Well it's really easy to find someone's location by the muzzle flash and sound, so if you put a silencer on, it is harder for you to be found and easier to flank and sneak around.

@11rabbitz So far for me the console CoD players can be identifed easily in the first subway base camping behind pillars. Seeing as prone has been in Battlefield games prior to BFBC1 getting killed by a proned player only feels cheesy when its some dude camping prone as an attacker.

I leveled up the Engineer Kit only to get the EOD Bot. That thing is fun to use! Don't drive it around in 1st person, switch to 3rd person, its so much easier.

@TorzillaHD You can drive it up to the MCOM stations to arm or disarm the bombs. It also has a torch that you can use to burn people with. Most players don't know what the Hell it is, so you can drive it right up to them.

@TorzillaHD You unlock it at 72,000 Engineer Score. I only used the Engineer Class in the Beta so it didn't take very long. If you use multiple classes it will take you forever to unlock any of the high level Guns, Attachments, Equipment, etc... My 3 friends and I each chose 1 Kit to only use in the Beta so we could each unlock the most stuff per kit.

in my opinion they did the recon class beautifully in this game. the mobile spawn is incredibly useful and the scope glare is a great idea to offset the proning mechanic. i dont like that whenever my teammate faces me with a light i can't see shit.

Bigmooney, saying that the final game will be nothing like the beta is simply not true. You can expect the same only without the bugs/glitches/crashes. They cant change the whole game, they only have 3 something weeks.
Ive never played a MP that was very different from the beta of that game, just some minor changes.

Mooney are you having any problems with staying in a squad with friends? Because, when I get in a squad with my friends at the main menu I can hear them... But, when we get put into in a game we are in diiferent squads, and on the odd chance we are on different teams. Will DICE fix this? Or is it just me having this problem? :3
