the description "modified stock bottom end sr20det" is poorly worded, but for people who read the opening list of parts it makes sense. Its "Modified, stock bottom end, sr20det"
and yea i think enthalpy is a DJ in Europe now, he made friends with Tiesto after tuning his S14 and Ferry Corsten flew him over to work on his SR, so Scott decided to stay and make mad tyte euro beats for the new Initial D series.
yeah , thats scott....hes dj-ing these days i hear...this is a pretty old video...03-04 or so id guess..... he deff did some nasty nasty tunes in his day....
Limited slip differential meaning when you do a burn out whether it be in a straight line, around corners, or one side in grass and the other on cement, both tires are gonna spin. With no lsd, most of the time you'll only get one tire spinning.
Compressor surge is when the compressor stalls because the air has nowhere to go. This only happens when the turbo is making boost and the throttle plate is shut quickly. This is why the BOV was invented. Compressor surge is extremely unlikely when the throttle plate is obviously wide open. Do some reading yourself.
you are correct, except that compressor surge also occurs when the compressor is operating to the left of the compressor map: "The slightly kinked diagonal line on the main (i.e. lower) part of the map is known as the surge (or stall) line. Above this line is a region of unstable flow, which is an area best avoided.
A compressor surge, typically, causes an abrupt reversal of the airflow through the unit, as the pumping action of the aerofoils stalls (akin to an aircraft wing stalling)."
Yes this is true but I assumed that if the guy is making 549hp out of a 2.0L engine that he knows what turbo is best for his setup and therefore is not having unstable airflow issues. But yes running a turbo out of it's intended performance range will cause compressor stall like you said.

when will ricers learn that HP is nothing without torque. 414 rwtq is garbage for all that power adding. my LS1 put that down on pump gas and all i had done was cam n tune. ill see u at the track...asking me for lenghts

usdmsw21 3 years ago
uh, I hear no surge. Mismatch doesn't cause surge. Throttle valves do. WTF are you talking about?

That pulsating sound is exactly what I am talking about. It is the BOV leaking just as the turbo spools.

An LS1 weighs less than a completly dressed FC's 13b rotary engine.
sLidEwAyS4 4 years ago
it depends on what you need.
to be totally efficiently, you only need as much torque is required to get the car moving, and then rev high enough to get into higher speed.
Unless you have some need to tow something, you dont' need a lot of torque for a light car
klined 4 years ago
tell me how much did u pay for the engine?
