Detroit was still selling more than 20000 tickets when they weren't selling out which is far more than pittsburgh sold when their arena held 16000. with a small arena and 10$ tickets, pittsburgh was certainly a b-market team through the late 90 through 2005. many games had less than 10000 attending. The late 90's was one of the Pens' better eras. Jagr, Lemieux, Kovalev, and Straka took the team deep into the playoffs every year. Yeah, prior to the salary cap, bigger cities had the advantage.
