I wonder what the rock press made of it. I remember my then pal coming up with a SECOND 12" bit of vinyl from the same single. Was that a first for any band ? This, I think, came out after the Annihilation.
Turn the clock back to 1984. Each week it was number 1 I bought a different version - 12"s, 7"s, cassette single... This is my favourite. It's included on the CD reissue of Welcome To The Pleasuredome (Japanese edition). I DJed for a bit at my 40th birthday last weekend - Two Tribes (Carnage) got the best reception of the night. So many great memories associated with this track.
This is, far and away, the best remix of Two Tribes. Excellent! First heard this at school in 1984/5, must be 25 years since I last heard it - wonderful!
Absolutely love this version. I often play this VERY LOUD at home...... Has to be play loud as possible to appreciate it!! Another GREAT 80's 12" mix.
anyone want more than 10 mins on youtube? well, im building youtube extended.com so tell everyone. tell youtube to fuckoff with 10 minutes. a wank takes longer!
I would like it if i could hear it. What's going on with YouTube? Half the vids I can't watch or hear and what's worse, I can't even contact YT to tell them about it or for any advice.
fuckin chooooon... so far ahead of it's time.. Holly.. ur a genius... I was livin in S.Africa.. this was obviously banned @ the time... we got it smuggled through customs though( my mum actually brought it through for me.. hahaha)
I've always found this version really creepy, mainly because of those voices along with Patrick Allen.
There are minor differences between the versions, such as: (a) some of the versions have Holly Johnson saying "yeah" at the start (including this one), and: (b) near the end where it goes kind of quieter, some versions have the beat continuing in the background whereas others lose the beat altogether and just have the sound effects. I don't know what the technical terms are for these things.

Stirling arrangement work by Anne Dudley, and programming by Steve Lipson (was that bass line really put together on a synclavier II?!)

I do like the Carnage mix. It's a more musical version to my mind, though the Annihilation version is still much liked.
