  • Marvelous, Eric -- both the transcription and the performance.

  • Thanks, Robert. (This one I videotaped almost four years ago).

  • beautyful!

  • thanks so much!

  • Wow! Amazing. My kid just started Violin. Hopefully she can be as good as you.

  • Fantastic! i also play violin and i just promised my dad that i want to be one of the best violinist in my country xD

  • Thanks very much! Best Wishes for the pursuit of your goals.

  • I want to hear this entire piece! Eric, what a great piece for violin! You know, when you are working out a composition or transcript a person is not generally fully concentrationing on the intonation but making decisions about what they want to leave in the piece as a finished product--it is not until then they can actually perform it as a "work" and concentrate on the performance aspect...at least that is my take on it. Nevertheless, I love what you have done

  • Thanks OMB! Perhaps there should be at least one or more Bagatelles to go with this one and maybe then it will sound more like a complete piece. As far as the performances aspects that you mentioned, Maybe playing it now I could bring more of a boisterous, playful quality to it. It's such a marvelous piece for piano, my wish was to make it a compelling character piece for our instrument. The motivation for the several transcriptions I've done were to help me in composing my own pieces.

  • After I went and explored this piece I realized it was just a tiny little piece--not something I had heard before. --do you have any sort of composing software for your computer--thats one thing I am exploring...of course Sibelius is outrageous and maybe more complex than what I need...just curious if you have explored this area...

  • You got it! For composing I use "Musictime". It's the "baby" version of the program "Encore" and it was $120 US when I got it. It comes from the company GVOX. It does everything I need, but it crashes for me quite often and I am not sure why. Just have to continually save work to keep from losing additions and changes. So, you write? Please do tell!

  • last time

I've been here an hour haha

    :)

  • missed a d!

    :D

    hahaha

    sorry

    XD

  • Good ear! Ya, I sure missed it, (and several others). I can take it-just reminds me that I have to practice better. :)

  • I keep saying it sounds so perfect !! battleblade is right, you do have a pure sound, and the few things you may not like im sure is just about a little bit more practice :) but oh sounds awsome to me...

I wish i could have an entire life to learn violin and not law, maybe next one :)?

    books&music sneddley, books&music :)❤❤❤, that's what life is about

    :)

I cant get tire of this video, I have to do some stuff but I've been listening this for half and hour hahaha Im gonna be soo late

    :)❤

  • Thanks so much! What you say, you say so nicely and I am overwhelmed by all what you say.

Law is tough and takes a lot of time, I've heard. I hope you can have enough time for music and your reading too. But I wouldn't want to only have music, being away from it sometimes and coming back makes it all the more sweet! :)

  • what about my comment? :(

  • Sorry, maybe something went wrong. I haven't seen your comment-don't know what happened...Please know I wouldn't ignore you.

  • Is this you? You have a beautiful, pure sound, that is flawless especially on the high notes. I love the arrangement. It is fun, and playful, very much like a scherzando.

Just watch the intonation on a few of the high notes, especially those d major arpeggios. You hit them beautifully, but a few of the ntoes may be flat going up, while the D is in pitch.

    Bravo!

  • Thank you for everything you said, especially how you felt about the arrangement.

Although I knew the arpeggios were not all in tune, I hadn't really checked if those notes were sharp or flat and listening to it now keeping in mind your observation, it's clear to me that you are on target. Perhaps a bit more work and next time I will be, also. :) Thanks again for your comments and for listening!

  • The out of tune notes are too many. ARGH!!!!

Ah! Felt good to get that out.
