I have tried to sample my vinyl using just the mic but it doesn't sound very good. I have tried connecting my Mixers output to the Ipad but doesn't record. How did you make your ipad headphone into a mic input? Any advice appreciated.

OMG, I have the same setup: The vestax portable turntable, the Ipad and Nanostudio. It is cool going to a flea market, grabbing some cheap vinyl records from the 1$ bin and sampling them right away directly into the Ipad and chopping with Nanostudio's wave editor. I picked up the Griffin Imic which has line-in as well as Mic-in so the output from the turntable or any other instrument can be fed to the Ipad. Sweeeeet!
