  • Sad that there are so many people out there who hear Rob's message of love and they spew all kinds of hatred against him. But coming from people who read Jesus' message and distort it to suit their own needs, whether they be to support war, shitting on the poor, supporting Teabagger political quacks, or promoting greed and wealth, it doesn't surprise me. Too bad. They worship a Jesus who they don't even know.

  • @NYC2SFJoe Being unbiblical is still unbiblical and needs to be called out o.0

  • Good video.

  • what fools! why are they listening to this wicked man who is probably a warlock. they are running to see someone who just pleases their sin-life and their own little god. Read 2. Tim 4,3 in your KJV! He is a false teacher!

  • They picked apart Jesus too...usually religious people-just sayin

  • In the 'primal psyche'? What does this guy actually believe? Animalistic evolution?

  • Joshua 8:31

as it is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, “an altar of uncut stones, upon which no man has wielded an iron tool.” And they offered on it burnt offerings to the Lord and sacrificed peace offerings.

    :)

  • 2 Thess. 1: 'when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed.'

Turn to Christ in repentance and faith in him alone!

  • WHAT SONG IS AT THE END OF THIS DVD?!?!?

  • im not saying you guys aren't listening to rob thoroughly,

    please dont assume that.

i just see him with a very different perspective i guess.

i imagine he's the kind of guy who just wants to have a coffee

and chat with some 9 to 5 working guy about god, and i feel

thats the way he talks about it in his videos too, its very simplified,

but its still very impacting... He's not talking to a theologian,

he's talking to a westerner who doesn't know where they're going and

    why they're on earth.

  • @shorteelicious Rob Bell only picks the few scriptures and twists them, wrongly interprets the Bible, and outward lies. If you do honest research, like others, you will realize Rob Bell is a false teacher...

  • to trackguy 2, judging by the design of the title, i dont think it's an attempt to disprove the biblical concept of god but more a comical reflection on how many people feel that god or lots of gods are just angry at them. i dont want to get into a debate, but i dont find i struggle understanding what rob is trying to say. And i definitely hear his full message first to make context of all the "controversial" commentaries he makes...
  • First of all..... Why is his title "the Gods"?? that alone is disturbing

  • @trackguy2

haha, I can get where you would be critical about that.

the title is simply a play on words. I highly encourage you to watch this video with an open mind. It's awesome!

  • @TheKnightnDay what's an open mind? you mean not wanting to criticize anything?

  • More false teaching from a Bible ignorant heretic. It is amazing that this guy can write ridiculous anti-Christian statements in his book 'Velvet Elvis' and call himself a Christian pastor.

  • Rob is trying to think outside of the box. Thank God-!

  • wow that was informative , did you hear that from wotm?

seems to me those who say such informative things about bell, are one of two things .

    hypocrites,

or hypocrites who chase after hypocrites .

    lets talk about wotm:

they say alot of inaccurate things and slander themselves quite often.

I can debate w/out using the bible.

you must use the law to convict sinners,

and my fav, stay away from prosperity preachers, yet there on tbn, and cutting promos!

and ray even spoke at a prosperity conf. lol

  • and your disgust of a fellow man disgusts God.

  • There is no question that God does and has punished sin in the past. The central question is whether or not one believes that the wrath, anger, and punishment for sin was exhausted in sacrifice of Jesus Christ. If so, then God cannot be "angry" at our sin. He is greater than it, and can use our shortcomings, which we all have, to show his goodness. No not believe it is to say that we deserve God's punishment. Even if our ego use it as a license to sin... God's love is greater then that.

  • @ijcomedy that my friend is one of the best comments i have heard in a long while. after all did christ not take our chastisment for us on the cross so we could be at peace? of course he did " the chastisment of our peace was upon him" there is no dening that we are not to condemn each other or convict or chastise one another but rather love each other ,even our enemy just as christ taught us to do.

  • Elohim

  • who are the Gods?

  • @whereareyou222 he's trying to make a point like a parable he's not really talking about " the gods"

  • Psalm 5:5 5 The boastful shall not stand in Your sight; You hate all workers of iniquity.

Psalm 7:11 11 God is a just judge, And God is angry with the wicked every day.

  • Rob bell's book Velvet Elvis is absolutely profound...God Bless you all

  • Unbelievable. And it's really sad to see, how many so-called-christians are getting angry and afraid about the possibility, that Rob Bell might say something right...

  • I think it's kind of odd that 90% of Rob Bell followers are young men and boys. Does

anyone else think this is strange?

  • You said it: "I think".

And your thoughts are wrong. I know a lot more women who like the noomas, then men.

I think it's strange, that people are searching and searching and searching to find something against Rob Bell instead of doing something for their church.

  • tbh if it's true that we have found a method of reaching young men more than women that would be great news. Most of the churches (in the UK at least) are skewed towards being mainly woman. Many people are begining to suggest that the way we do church now is too feminine for guys to relate to...

so my point is - if Rob Bell (and I don't yet know if I agree with the if) attracts many more men, then that surely means we need to learn from him

  • You Bell-haters are crazy. I don't know how many of you actually STUDY the Bible or just regurgitate what your pastor and/or the Christian media says about Bell and guys who don't look and smell like your own Christianity. Get a theology that's based on relationship not theological textbooks and pandering to religion. Seriously. Bell expounds some deep things about Scripture that you're missing because of your own preconceived notions. Be like the Bereans and STUDY the Scriptures for yourself!

  • amen!

  • Everyone should study scripture, but there are a lot of Bell folloers who believe what he says without studying it much further. Most of what Bell says is o.k. but it's the little "inaccuracies" that make him dangerous.

  • Accho- we all have inaccuracies.

I think it's safe to say that if one of us knew everything perfectly then either all the problems with church would be fixed and the world would be converted - or you would be crucified like Jesus.

Rob Bell encourages people to question what he says a lot more than most pastors.

  • well said SeekTheFaceOfTruth

  • This dude is supposed to be some kind of great pastor? I have yet to hear him read ONE VERSE of Scripture. More, lame Emergent Church heresy. How 'bout actually teaching the Bible? Maybe a verse by verse exposition? Am I asking too much here?

  • Being a pastor is about teaching the Word, not reading it. Anyone can do that on their own. And if your such an expert you would know that what he is referring to is DIRECTLY from the Bible.

  • Well, if he's teaching from the Bible, why do I not know what book, chapter, & verse he's 'teaching' from? Bible teaching is teaching FROM the Bible, not trying to add new age, Gnostic, mystical nuances to God's Word to make it sound cerebral. Many are deceived by this EmergentChurch apostasy and are on their way to hell BECAUSE of false teachers like this.

  • It's a segment, have you heard more of this? Have you actually sat and read any of the books Rob Bell has written? Do you know these people personally you are saying are going to hell? Some questions to be asked.

  • I'm reading SexGod right now and while it's got some good points - I'm starving for real Biblical Truth. Robbie never speaks of sin, repentance, the Lordship of Jesus Christ or God's Sovereignty. Absolutely no Doctrine is being put forth in SexGod - just feel good strories and a few Bible verse sprinkled in for good measure. Bible teaching is teaching FROM the BIBLE!! Verse by verse expository teaching IS Bible teaching. Why can't you hear this?

  • What you are talking about is a biblical commentary in which Sex God is not that. I totaly understand what you are saying but SexGod is a different sort of book.

It's like comparing CS Lewis mere christianity to his work on psalms. Look into sex God from a different angle and find something that looks at Doctorine if you want that. As for sin, repentance and soverignty that comes with challenging yourself with what you read.

  • SexGod, the way I see it, is not meant for people seeking Biblical, almost "black-and-white" answers. He writes for people less familiar with "Christian stuff", and therefore he uses a language and a style of writing that is perhaps more "easy" than what somebody who has (maybe) grown-up as a Christian is looking for!! Btw. If you doubt his theology as a pastor-person, try to listen to some of his "Mars Hill" Podcast!!! I really RECOMMEND it!!!

  • he is right, it is our responsobility to familurize ourselves with the word, and he is there to guide us and open it up to us in multiple ways as to make it more clear

  • he does do verse by verse exposition. he just finished the book of phillipians. you can download his sermons on his website.

  • why does everybody have a problem with cavemen.. Ken Ham, who is complete creationists said that maybe, after Adam and Eve had SONS and DAUGHTERS.. and after people separated at the tower of Babel.. Maybe, as they separated there were people.. who lived in CAVES... They would be known as CAVEpeople.. or CAVEmen.. Not cave men as a link to evolution.. but cavemen who were people who lived in caves.. AND because of unrighteousness devedloped their own belief until God revealed His TRUTH!

  • Because that is not at all what Bell was saying...it is not a semantics issue. Bell preached Christ showed the sacraficial system was wrong...that he died not as a propitiation for our sin, not in our stead, but to show us he was not angry at sin in the first place. aka a form of univeralism. Repent Bell, and answer the unfounded blatent insults against Christians.

  • sorry that last response was from me as I am on my coworkers comp.

  • how any Christian can read the story of Abraham and Isaac and not believe Christ's death on the cross fulfilled the sacrifice for us is unbelievable to me.

"God himself will provide the lamb for the burn offering, my son." ~Gen. 22:8

I just wonder if this is something Rob Bell is just now coming up with due to others in the Emergent movement or if he's believed this all along.

  • Bell starts, "So...there was cave woman" No there wasn't. His whole theory is based on evolution and a trajectory hermeneutic of the Bible. Clearly preached that those who preach we are all sinners who have offended God and are in desperate need of forgiveness, are similar to those who sacrifice women and children on pagan alters; are responsible for suicide, cutting, etc. I was sitting 7 rows back at the Grand Rapids show. Please listen to these insults to Christians with spiritual discernment.

  • so you were there?

that makes you what bout 6000 years old?

  • Asking loaded arrogant questions doesn't make you right either. The Bible is God breathed authority. God is not a liar or open to your interpretation of him (aka idolotry).

  • so does that mean because the bible never mentioned video games they dont exsist?

or that polar bears and penquins dont either?

or dinosaurs? so just because you think you know gives you the right to shoot off your mouth?

    get for real

  • I suggest you study logic, especially logical fallacies. For the record, the Bible does mention dinosaurs - behemoth (aka brachiosaurus), Leviathan (aka kronosaurus) and the Hebrew word tanniyn, which translates to dinosaur. See Job 40:15-24, Job 41, Psalm 104:25,26 and Isaiah 27:1. There is fossil evidence with dinosaur and human footprints together, not millions of years apart. Oh, and the answer to your last question, the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.

  • you need to understand logic:

you said "there is no such things as caveman"

    yet people lived in caves

bible does not say "dinosaurs" so therfore by your logic there is no such things as dinosaurs only leviathans and behemoths.

also by applying your logic it could be reasoned that on noahs ark the animals did not use the bathroom and did not eat.

why because it is not written in there..

  • Again, not a semantics issue. There are obviously men and women who still live in caves in the middle east. Not chasing your red herring. By your logic, the Bible does not ever say "Sin, Wrath, Love, God or Jesus" either. Did you even read the verses I gave you that described the dinosaurs?

  • well you were the one who said "there were no cave men"

no I am perfectly logical it is logical to me to say I was not around back then and if persons dwelled in caves than they could be classified as cave men.

much as persons could be classified as race.

p.s Jesus name was actually Joshua.

  • Actually, it was a story. He's trying to get a point across, not present empirical evidence for the existence of Cro-magnon humans.

  • Your point? His conclusions are based on a lie. Christ died because we are all by nature liars, thieves, blasphemous, adulterers at heartNOT to show that the whole sacrificial system was wrong, but to be a loving and holy sacrifice to a Just God who IS angry at sin. We are undeserving of such love, and should grasp onto our precious savior. Bell throws the basic gospel out the window with the legalists & modern gospel bathwater.
