I remember this on the hit charts back in the spring of 1970. "New World Comming" Mama Cass back then sings a new world comming and it's just around the bend.
But come to think of it, Mama Cass was right, because that new world has come and it certainly is round the bend.
She's right you know. The Old World was only for some people, not for all. The New World is for each and all together. If you want the best of the Old back, come and join the rest of us in building the new. I think song is a fitting anthem to that eternal optimism that drives the human spirit on to the better world to come. It's been said many times before but the point bears repetition - Cass Elliot was a great singer with a life-affirming voice. It's always getting better if you retain hope.
Cass at her best. Range and clarity really shows off her talent. Thank you for the music Cass. Not too many have come to the plate since. Missed by many.
Cass Elliot's voice has a special quality. This is a great song for graduation time. I wish that Disney or Pixar would use this song in a movie. Thank you for uploading the late Cass Elliot. Her song Disney girls was for her daughter. I wonder if her daughter has a voice like her mom.
Actually i think its the theme song for Jehovah Gods Kingdom thru his son Jesus...let your kingdom come on earth as in heaven. No manmade kingdom can duplicate the words to this song!!
Revolution is largely an excretory process, and has little to say about what comes after. Unless the Egyptian people REALLY press for a republic, they will end up with another tyrant. Let us pray that Egypt gets democracy, instead of another tyrant.
Please. These people don't want democrasy. All this shit is run by the most vicious and radical muslim groups. The hate the people have is so that they will bring in muslim brotherhood just to satiate their lust for jihad.
Again, these people do not desire democrasy. They would've had it a long time ago if they watnted it. It's just that USA Libtards stupidly think it will happen.
Isn't this the song from the movie Monty Walsh starring Lee Marvin? If it is, then the new world coming is now plus the preceding century. The movie was about the dying out of the cowboys.
Isn't this the song from the movie Monty Walsh starring Lee Marvin? If it is, then the new world coming is now plus the preceding century. The movie was about the dying out of the cowboys.
One day there will be a the day a new world will be here. Jesus is gonna return and conquer all evil. It will be a world of the Kingdom of God. There will be all peace, love, joy, and happiness. Jesus will be crowned King of Kings and Lord of Lords. This old world will pass away. And the new world of Jesus Christ will be here. A new Jerusalem will come down and we will be kings and priests of Christ. There is a new world coming.
A great companion to Make Your Own Kind of Music that echoes the optimism and hope of the early 70's. These two songs will help immortalize Mama Cass more than anything else she did.
Nevertheless, just knew i had to look it up. Been listening to them ever since. Strikes me of how many of their songs have been on adverts and i never knew they were actually original artists lol. Wish i was born 2 decades ago. I sing great and i play the guitar even better. Maybe i could've been in one of their bands lol.. Their music is totally upliflting, true and warm. I love it....x.x.x....
I'm 30 (enter the manopause) and i never had the chance 2 hear such beauty. I watched this program on Sky3 recently, called "Death by Excess". It told about the lifes & deaths of Mama Cass & Janis Joplin. Watched with my partner (13 year my senior) and he was utterly shocked by my non existence of acknowledgement of who these terrific people were.
Mann / Weil...great songwriters. The Brill Building produced so much great talent..e.g. Carole King, Mann/Weil, Neil Diamond, Neil Sedaka, etc... Too bad, nothing like it anymore. Marc
I had this record when I was in high school. Almost wore it out!! Cass Elliot is one of the greatest voices of the past fifty years. Much too sad that she was taken from us so early and so young. Love her still!!!!
Oh this wa a very beautiful song. I believe some friends wrote it for her. I have listened to the words and it's very touching. This song holds true for any positive chnages that you may be about to go through. Positive insight.
What a beautiful song and what a beauiful idea it conveys...
How about listening to it with an open heart? Try to think for yourself that there is another way of viewing life besides what the media and government keeps offering? It is up to us to create the world we want; how about working toward the one this song offers?
This is an absolutely wonderful song! I never heard it before, even though I love The Mamas and the Papas. I love the pictures in this video too, and I hope and pray that its message comes true. This is a future worth working for with everything one has!
I too am a great fan--the group is my all time favorite vocal group. And Cass Elliot of one of my all time favorite female singers. However, 'New World Coming" was released by Elliot as a solo sometime in the early 1970's. She died in the summer of 1974, and I had the 45rpm version. So, I imagine somewhere around 1973 or 1974 was when the record was released. That is why you did not hear it on any albums recorded by the entire group.
Nanze--thanks for the year. Loved the song but never could remember exactly when I bought the record. Glad to learn that the world got to enjoy the song longer than I thought before Cass left us. Thanks again for the research help!

Well Obama GOT elected and only the most imbecilic Limbaugh-Coulter-Hannity rejects would still buy the "socialism and communism" scare tactic. Anyway, I'd prefer that to the FASCIST STATE we sank into during the Bush Regime. As far as jobs go, are you mad? NEWSFLASH: Nearly 1/2 MILLION American jobs lost in December ALONE.
