  • i love the way she sounds & sings the part at 1:40 & on "comin' in love"!!! she has a beautiful voice.

    God bless you cass

  • I remember this on the hit charts back in the spring of 1970. "New World Comming" Mama Cass back then sings a new world comming and it's just around the bend.

But come to think of it, Mama Cass was right, because that new world has come and it certainly is round the bend.

  • Yeah, the NEXT Inauguaration ... the one WITHOUT Obama!

  • She's right you know. The Old World was only for some people, not for all. The New World is for each and all together. If you want the best of the Old back, come and join the rest of us in building the new. I think song is a fitting anthem to that eternal optimism that drives the human spirit on to the better world to come. It's been said many times before but the point bears repetition - Cass Elliot was a great singer with a life-affirming voice. It's always getting better if you retain hope.

  • God bless, Mama Cass!!!

  • Cass at her best. Range and clarity really shows off her talent. Thank you for the music Cass. Not too many have come to the plate since. Missed by many.

  • Love this song. But I like the Sharon, Lois & Bram version better...

  • Beautiful

  • Cass Elliot's voice has a special quality. This is a great song for graduation time. I wish that Disney or Pixar would use this song in a movie. Thank you for uploading the late Cass Elliot. Her song Disney girls was for her daughter. I wonder if her daughter has a voice like her mom.

  • NWO?

  • thanks 4 putting such a clear copy up!!

  • Actually i think its the theme song for Jehovah Gods Kingdom thru his son Jesus...let your kingdom come on earth as in heaven. No manmade kingdom can duplicate the words to this song!!

  • @Hitch0403 no

  • FOR EGYPTIAN PEOPLE WORLD WIDE!!!!!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

  • @blueroses28711

    Beautiful! Thank you.

    2/11/2011

  • @blueroses28711 Its amazing how this music fits in almost every bodies life today. My god I miss it

  • @blueroses28711

Revolution is largely an excretory process, and has little to say about what comes after. Unless the Egyptian people REALLY press for a republic, they will end up with another tyrant. Let us pray that Egypt gets democracy, instead of another tyrant.

  • @gmcrum

Please. These people don't want democrasy. All this shit is run by the most vicious and radical muslim groups. The hate the people have is so that they will bring in muslim brotherhood just to satiate their lust for jihad.

Again, these people do not desire democrasy. They would've had it a long time ago if they watnted it. It's just that USA Libtards stupidly think it will happen.

  • @blueroses28711 hmmm, from what i hear from my husbands family there im sure many of them wish it were still the old one.

  • FOR EGYPTIAN WORLD WIDE!!!!!!!!!!

  • @blueroses28711

    are you smoking crack?

  • great song, we can only hope

  • Isn't this the song from the movie Monty Walsh starring Lee Marvin? If it is, then the new world coming is now plus the preceding century. The movie was about the dying out of the cowboys.

  • Wonderful voice, wonderful optimistic song, wonderful Lady...

  • aww Cass left us way to soon but her voice will always be one of the greats

  • what a great song i had forgotten it Cass just left far to early God Bless Cass you stillare one of the greats

  • She was and still is beyond comparison. There is a quality to Cass's voice which is just indescribable

  • @roverlux Yes, she had such a strong, sweet voice.

  • One day there will be a the day a new world will be here. Jesus is gonna return and conquer all evil. It will be a world of the Kingdom of God. There will be all peace, love, joy, and happiness. Jesus will be crowned King of Kings and Lord of Lords. This old world will pass away. And the new world of Jesus Christ will be here. A new Jerusalem will come down and we will be kings and priests of Christ. There is a new world coming.

  • @dbrendall I love this song, it is awesome and hope it is played and sung the day Jesus is crowned.

  • @oklahomaisok "the day Jesus is crowned"?

That is so retarded I don't even know where to begin...

So sad that people understand neither spirituality, nor science, nor politics...

  • this was of her best, she like others was hopping for a better tomarrow with peace and love 4 all the world

  • Now just a damn minute - where is our hot babe anyhow?

No I'm not being sarcastic. I really find her attractive. And that voice - I wish I was

old enough to appreciate her when she was alive.

Oh and her daughter runs her official website and answers email.

  • her music is so natural and soft, it is so nice compared to other music pounding into my ear like a fist.

  • New world coming? Boy did we believe that back in the day. No we were just young and native

  • @chucknchar That's quite cynical. I see little signs every week, things are getting better. :)

  • She Left us with her Legacey of Sunny Music and Flower Days!

  • A great companion to Make Your Own Kind of Music that echoes the optimism and hope of the early 70's. These two songs will help immortalize Mama Cass more than anything else she did.

  • One of her best. Never get tired of it! Thank you!!

  • I was at Boy's Town when this came out; the Class of '71 graduated to this song.

  • Positively, a terrific video. Great melding of the voice, the words, the images. It spoke. Many, many thanks.

  • This would make a great intro to the series finale of Lost.

  • I went to a cool grade school-eugene field. Remember this song.

  • Thank you for the vid. Great song. Always a Cass fan.

  • i love mama

  • FIne song to my favs 5*

  • 1970 for this single. Billboard #42 pop, #4 easy listening.

  • forgot to add that nickellodeon55, thanks

  • Nevertheless, just knew i had to look it up. Been listening to them ever since. Strikes me of how many of their songs have been on adverts and i never knew they were actually original artists lol. Wish i was born 2 decades ago. I sing great and i play the guitar even better. Maybe i could've been in one of their bands lol.. Their music is totally upliflting, true and warm. I love it....x.x.x....

  • I'm 30 (enter the manopause) and i never had the chance 2 hear such beauty. I watched this program on Sky3 recently, called "Death by Excess". It told about the lifes & deaths of Mama Cass & Janis Joplin. Watched with my partner (13 year my senior) and he was utterly shocked by my non existence of acknowledgement of who these terrific people were.

  • Ahh great song! I love Cass and still do :) She was taken from us too early and at a young age. RIP Cass Elliot <3

  • augiebrooks there is nothing about christ in the song ! newsflash CASS ELLIOT IS JEWISH !!!!!!! THE SONG IS GREAT ! I LOVED HERFOR 45 YRS

  • This was the 3rd song in Cass' Mann & Weil trilogy of hits. The other two were "It's Getting Better" followed by "Make Your Own Kind Of Music."

  • Mann / Weil...great songwriters. The Brill Building produced so much great talent..e.g. Carole King, Mann/Weil, Neil Diamond, Neil Sedaka, etc... Too bad, nothing like it anymore. Marc

  • I had this record when I was in high school. Almost wore it out!! Cass Elliot is one of the greatest voices of the past fifty years. Much too sad that she was taken from us so early and so young. Love her still!!!!

  • Oh this wa a very beautiful song. I believe some friends wrote it for her. I have listened to the words and it's very touching. This song holds true for any positive chnages that you may be about to go through. Positive insight.

  • What a beautiful song and what a beauiful idea it conveys...

How about listening to it with an open heart? Try to think for yourself that there is another way of viewing life besides what the media and government keeps offering? It is up to us to create the world we want; how about working toward the one this song offers?

Just a thought, for what it's worth...

  • Love this song! Great voice

  • This is an absolutely wonderful song! I never heard it before, even though I love The Mamas and the Papas. I love the pictures in this video too, and I hope and pray that its message comes true. This is a future worth working for with everything one has!

  • I too am a great fan--the group is my all time favorite vocal group. And Cass Elliot of one of my all time favorite female singers. However, 'New World Coming" was released by Elliot as a solo sometime in the early 1970's. She died in the summer of 1974, and I had the 45rpm version. So, I imagine somewhere around 1973 or 1974 was when the record was released. That is why you did not hear it on any albums recorded by the entire group.

  • Bearproff....This one of the songs on the album "Mamas Big Ones" released in 1971.

  • Nanze--thanks for the year. Loved the song but never could remember exactly when I bought the record. Glad to learn that the world got to enjoy the song longer than I thought before Cass left us. Thanks again for the research help!

  • HOORAY for the best idea given by historyman52 - that it should be the theme for the Obama inaugural.

  • I think the song should be the theme of the Inauguration. Wish I could be there.

  • @historyman52 I want the Old World back, thank you very much.

  • What a PERFECT voice ...

  • What wonderful scenes to go with this beautiful song!

  • I agree.

  • Hey eddiehaskell7..U ARE A REAL DICK!!GO FUCK YOURSELF...OBAMA WILL BE ONE OF THE GREATEST PRESIDENTS AND YOU WILL STILL BE A FASCIST COCKSUCKER!!!

  • Well Obama GOT elected and only the most imbecilic Limbaugh-Coulter-Hannity rejects would still buy the "socialism and communism" scare tactic. Anyway, I'd prefer that to the FASCIST STATE we sank into during the Bush Regime. As far as jobs go, are you mad? NEWSFLASH: Nearly 1/2 MILLION American jobs lost in December ALONE. The entire economic & social system of the country has collapsed DUE to the numerous FAILURES of the Republican Party. Signed, a 44-year-old former honors "college kid"

  • If you are trying to prove that you are as dumb as eddiehaskell7 you have succeded!

At least he doesn't claim that he's not an idiot,

Also what has any of this got to do with Cass Eliott and her beautiful voice.

  • I'm playing this song right now...as I'm helping to get Obama elected...this is what I'm working for...how about you??....

  • what a beautiful wonderful woman miss her so much

  • great lady.......great song

    thanks for posting

  • Mama Cass is so fabulous, even today her voice fills my heart with joy. I miss you Girlfriend.

    Love,

    MamaMidler

    The Diva Mama Cass Elliot!******

  • Excellent Song & Video! What Class & Heart

That Mama Cass ..Love it & Thanks~!******

  • Wonderful, just wonderful. Thanks for this.

  • Effortlessly beautiful! We were so spoiled back in the 60's. "Clear and sweet and free..." That was certainly Cass Elliot's voice. Not to mention, she sang in tune. What a gem! Thanks for posting it, Sunsong23.

  • Hi there,

I'm glad you found this. I love this song and I totally agree with you about Cass.

    Have a great day.

  • She had such a great voice.

  • mamma cass keeps it short but sweet... rip mamma

  • i totally forgot about this song, but i am happy i found it. turned 50 this year, and this era holds me and keeps me grounded thanks for the tunes

  • You are most welcome. Such fabulous music from that era long ago - but how amazing this song continues to be :-)

  • My favorite Mama Cass song of all time. Gives me chills to this day.

  • Great song. 5***** G.G.

  • In the late 60s and early 70s, we had Are You Ready? (Pacific Gas & Electric) - Put Your Hand In The Hand (Ocean) -- Spirit In The Sky (Norman Greenbaum) -- The Lord's Prayer (Sister Janet Mead) -- Speak To The Sky (Rick Springfield) -- The Unicorn (Irish Rovers) -- Oh happy day (Edwin Hawkins Singers) -- Day By Day (Godspell) -- Everything Is Beautiful (Ray Stevens) -- Get Together (Youngbloods). The list goes on and on. Praise the LORD for the good music!

  • Jesus is the new world coming!

  • If you think he is coming, just enjoy that knowledge and please be respectful of a diverse religious audience on this forum. Thank you

  • Comment removed

  • Ofcourse I am respectful of a diverse religious audience..why wouldt I be. The Christ--is in essence a state of mind--a sense of Peace--belonging--UNITY. Not to mention historically accurate but metaphysically unity peace of mind etc..not trying to preach just tell you how I PERSOANLLY feel--just my opinion.

  • sorry, saying "Christ is the new world coming" is preaching and insensitive to non-Christians.

  • i don't know about you, but i am now desensitized to this type of message. i just assume they mean well, providing their own version of hope, but after so many repetitions it becomes as hollow as someone saying "god bless you" after a sneeze.

  • Mama Cass--what a loss. This is one of my favorites despite the fact that the song naively yearns for utopia, that mindset that was typical of that generation and continues today. I am thankful for each new day. And YT brings us all the joy of Mama Cass and all the wonderful music and performances from the past. To me, that's a new world that we never had.

  • True....thought we'd have that new world by now! Beautiful song, beautiful video!

  • The promises of changes that eminated from the '60's generation...

...48 years later, we're still hoping for change.
