Why did the baritone player slap tongue the last note? The original part would never have called for that, whether you're looking at the woodwind quintet or piano/organ version.....
Outstanding playing and ensemble! I have mixed feelings about the transcription, but I guess if you're gonna disregard the sounds he wanted, you might as well do justice to the character, and these guys certainly do...
it's like musica ricercata's third movement

For the most part it sounds great, but why did you decide to add slap articulations to the bari part(this goes for the entire piece)?

Interesting...I'm not sure I like the arrangment (though I might be a little biased because I'm a flutist), but you sure play it well!

I agree. To me, it just doesn't do justice as a wind quintet would be able to bring. Also, a bit biased since I'm a clarinetist.
Asides that, props to Northwestern University for a fine sax quartet.

I'm not hating. I dunno where that came from...
HIkeda126 3 years ago
Haha. I know you weren't hating. It's just that I personally have not heard a wind 5tet play this piece as well as these guys.

Carion did an amazing job with this piece, there was video on youtube of them doing it, and it was this tight.
