  • Looney Tunes was ahead of it's time. Yes, there were racial overtones in this cartoon but as an African American I found it to be funny. Black comedians make jokes about slavery. It's not right but I guess laughter helps escape and forget about the pain. Otherwise we will live in eternal misery.

  • Great cartoon. The South will rise gain.

Note a blooper. Sam's hat leaves his head several times. @3:31 and later, he's bald, almost as bald as Elmer Fudd. However @ 5:58 he has a generous mop.

  • Remember, you can only be offended if you WANT to. Anyone who is offended because of the alleged racism they see in this, that's their problem.

  • @scason how the hell is it "alleged"??

  • i liked it :)

  • this is so racist....

  • Best Looney Tunes ever(except for Wile E. Coyote cartoons of course).

  • this was banned because of the racism portraied by Bugs Bunny

  • It was also banned by ABC when the Bugs Bunny and Tweety show aired. I guess they thought that the War Between The States was too touchy a subject at the time.
